Oho boy was this dinner the culinary highlight of our two week European trip. Fresh sea bass and trout that was perfectly prepared and served. Complementary amuse-bouche, shockingly good local wine and beer, and fresh, tasty desert. The best part was our server who was so helpful and who made our stay an elegant bright spot in our trip. Prices were beyond reasonable for the quality. Entrees were about 20-25 €. With wine and dessert it was 35 € per person.

came here twice during our weekend in kobarid. this was definitely the best restaurant in the city. the food we tried was always amazing quality and very well presented. the service was excellent and the waiter was very friendly with us.

Das hätte ich hier nicht erwartet: Ein exzellentes Fischrestaurant mitten in Kobarid, einem slowenischen Alpendorf. Aber in Slowenien liegt ja alles nah beieinander, sind Berge und Meer ja nicht weit voneinander entfernt. Sehr gepflegtes Ambiente, sehr aufmerksame Bedienung, sehr interessante Speisekarte. Selten wurden wir auf unserer Rundreise durch Istrien und Slowenien derart verwöhnt. Die geräucherte Forelle war köstlich, die Goldbrasse war absolut deliziös, die Spaghetti Manzini (mit Meeresfrüchten) ebenfalls - Küche auf Sterneniveau! Da wir von einer Bergtour kamen, ließen wir auch nichts auf den Tellern zurück und sparten nicht mit Lob.

Wonderful! Started with the tuna tartar with avocado purée and a light ponzu sauce which was lovely and had just the right about of flavor without taking away from the quality tuna.

My husband had the steak with pepper sauce. This was accompanied by the best fennel purée I’ve ever had and lightly grilled fresh fennel on top. Light and fluffy with a beautiful creamy taste- this will be my new obsession to duplicate at home!

My trout filet was beautifully cooked and had a little crunch on the outside. The grilled veggies were also spot on.

The food is great, but the service tops it all! The waiters and waitresses make you feel at home and even though we had dietary restrictions like being vegetarian or a vegan, they were able to accommodate everything and really let you feel as if it’s is no issue to be of service!
