We got a warm welcoming as soon as we entered the restaurant. It was a hot day and the waiter immediately gave us free water with ice and throughout the whole time he was concerned if we have everything we need. We didn't have to wait long for our food and the mussels that we ordered were not only delicious, but also enough for the both of us (when the waiter saw, that we already ate all our bread, he soon brought us another loaf). We enjoyed our time there and we recommend this restaurant to everyone who is looking for good food for a good price and friendly staff...

Excellent choice in Izola. We went to Gostilna Istra due to our guide's suggestion. It was an excellent choice.

We ordered squid, mixed sea food plate, fish soup, tiramisu and panna cotta. Everything was delicious: very fresh, well prepared and presented. Service was fast and kind.

It is a good place with easy access from the parking lots, where many locals go for dinner.

The place is really between 3 and 4 stars, but I gave them 4 as an encouragement. I would say that there is really a staff problem in this establishment. Behind the bar there are several people and even with just a few guests, they do not manage to produce food in a reasonable amount of time.
