The hostel is in a very nice location. You reach everything by foot very well. The rooms are nice. When I arrived the door was open even though there was noone at the reception. I was just able to walk into all the rooms because they are nog locked as well. Izola is not a dangerous area but I would always recommend locking your things in the provided lockers next to the beds. The hostel is not the cleanest but I think for a hostel it is okay. The prices are quite high. The kitchen is not very well equipped and not very clean. There are only two places to cook on the stove. There is only one big pot and no pan without teflon that is not scratched very badly. I think they should offer iron pans even though they are more cost intensive in the first place but do not cause cancer as scratched teflon does. The staff and the people that stay in the hostel are very friendly. The common area is quite small but very nice. I stayed in the room at the attic which is very cute. There are not so many bathrooms but if you come at a time where the hostel is not completely full I think it works out quite well. Izola is such a nice place to spend some time. I would really recommend...
Read moreMy family spent one night, and the impression is excellent, we were in the attic alone (to our request we enabled privacy). The room was clean, nice, and very low (just the loft), beds were clean. The space itself is a great and withdrawn, the entire hostel is a delicious and flawless.||But I have two points to make, namely the first comment: the fan out of the bathroom, uncomfortable loud sounds (poor sound insulation), there is no mention if anyone of the guests don't forget to "on" position. Another comment: the mandatory sequestering of entry doors and seals with an impeccable arrangements, whereas a high staircase acts as a chimney and all the smells from the kitchen, have risen up in the attic. It is because people keep warm various dishes and the smells spread through the stairwell up (maybe we should save this problem over the...
Read moreIf you're planning on visiting the Slovenian coast, you must surely go to Izola and in particular to this hostel. The two hosts are so friendly and hospitable and know much about the beautiful surroundings. The feel and looks of the hostel are very relaxed and a bit alternative, which give the hostel its charm. You can tell the hosts run this hostel because they really want to and are enthusiastic about it. The hostel itself is clean and the common room, unfortunately without a kitchen, is very nice (the couches are very comfortable! ;)). The fact that you can rent mountain bikes for free to cycle along the coast (the Parenzana route!) is awesome. Just beware that the rooms are not fully separated by walls, so your night rest partly depends on the civilized behaviour of...
