.....we decide to celebrate my 62nd birthday here as we know this is a popular elegant venue that sit on top of a hill in the Durbanville Wine Route & Wine farms! The ride up is a bit rough on the cars you almost need a 4 X 4 to get to the top safe-lii! Once you get to the Top the Panoramic Views are awesome-lii beautiful and breath-taking! So after all the shaking we were read-ii to indulge in the Buffet Style Fine Dine and we were very happii as the restaurant wasn't very full as always, Mmmm more for us to enjoy! For starters they have soups, sushi and more! The mains are made up of various dishes such as stews, different pies, roast meats & plain & spice-ii types of rices! For desserts they have fruit-salad, trifles and ice cream! So much to choose from! Make sure you come on an emptii stomach! Hahahahaha! We had a splendid enjoyable birthday part-ii here! This place is a must visit especial-lii at night from the terrific...

Well, the first time visit to celebrate a 50th and most definitely the last time too. Nothing like grandma's cooking with tough/chewy lamb, hard potatoes not cooked properly. Food was not sufficient and dishes were not replaced as it should be.Desserts were shocking with a fruit salad consisting of chopped apples,dry baked pudding & mushy trifle with sour cream.Minimum chocolate mousse that was apparently good if you were fortunate to get which was served in a plastic bowl.Presentation was absolutely shocking. When we asked for water at the table one jug for a table of 13ppl. When asked for ice for our glasses we were told to take out the ice bucket! Well say no more...defo will not be back! such a pity because the venue is stunning with...

Driving to the restaurant is the most amazing and beautiful experience with stunning views of the mountains and surrounding areas. This makes you look forward to an exceptional culinary experience. What a disappointment. You pay a high price for a terrible buffet lunch. The Lamb on The Spit was not ready, the chops was cooked until is was black in colour and dried and rubbery. Roast chicken was dry. All the hot pots looked as if this was from left overs. The only item that we enjoyed was the pickled fish with potato salad. Will I recommend this restaurant or go back...a definite NO. The purpose of my visit was to see what this place offers, as we are planning a family wedding. Venue scratched...
