Top-tier coffee shop with an expansive menu at very reasonable prices. I've visited a few times before and the quality and service are always excellent. The omelettes are impeccable, but don't miss out on the pancakes with fresh berries! There's also a lunch menu (I forgot to take a snap but will update this review with one when I have the chance).

The latte and cappuccino selection has a few flavoured varieties. The Dirty Caribbean latte is certainly worth a try, definitely not something you'll find at most coffee shops (coconut and chocolate... Perfection!). Also, some complimentary pastel de natas with your coffee? Even better!

Coimbra also has cakes, tarts, breads, muffins and more to satisfy even the fussiest customer. The apple crumble is a standout! It doesn't skimp on filling and the pastry is excellent. Imported chocolate, cheeses and soft drinks are also available.

Ultimately, if you're keen for a fairly priced lunch or brunch that uses high quality ingredients along with friendly service, Coimbra should definitely be your go-to option. Just be sure that finding parking may be tricky during busy hours, but it's totally worth...

Excellent service, great prices and delicious fare. All at Coimbra Bakery. It’s taken me five years to have brunch at this comfy and welcoming bakery cum eatery. On arrival I ordered a flat white and it was served shortly thereafter with a pasteis da nata on the house. I couldn’t believe it and they make the best ones too. I know because I bought a box of 6 a little while ago and ate them all. I ordered the Eggs Florentine which were perfectly poached with the right quantity of spinach so that I felt satiated and could have licked the plate had I been in my own kitchen. I must tell you all that I have been living in the Western Cape and away since 24 years of age and the consistency of the baked goods the Legendary Chicken pies and the later restaurant addition are testimony to the love of this business. The dedication of John and his staff to all things baking. The aroma of fresh bakes and cooked take away and even it turkey, Italy and France I have never tasted more delicious bread and delicatessen.
