On the 17th March 2023 my husband and I had breakfast at Park Edge, he had the full breakfast and I had the Eggs Benedict. He ate from mine, but I didn’t eat from his. We never ate anything before or after and our children were not with us.
Following that breakfast, we had nothing else for the day. Later in the afternoon, I started to experience stomach cramps and a bit later so did he. Throughout the night we had experienced excruciating pain, loose bowels, vomiting and extreme weakness, all while we were at our son’s school camp. This resulted in us not being able to attend a wedding and a Bed and Breakfast booking the next day, as we were bedridden. We also had to go into hospital and were placed on the drip for 3 hours on Sunday. Our children were fine.
This has been especially sad and disappointing for me because I took a week to recover. We have consistently attended Park Edge over the years but feel we need to inform the public. Especially since reporting this to the Park edge Manager Pretty, my husband was told that someone else complained on the same day.
The wedding memories that we lost, the loss of time at work, the pain and suffering that we’ve experienced from the evening of the 17th of March to 22nd March can’t be un-lived. We also asked if Park Edge could reimburse us for the bed and breakfast and some medical cost that was not covered by our medical aid, but Park Edge said we must prove that it was their food through a pathology tests.
We know it was their food because we ate nothing else and our children were fine.

Read moreEVEN THO COMMERCIAL MOM'S LOVE TO BE APPRECIATED - My daughter made a reservation to celebrate mothers day, which included granny for a table of six. The booking was for 10:30 as we were going for brunch. Our party admired all the quirky collectables as we waited to be seated but the 'host' who apologetically told us that our table was still occupied - as they allocate a set time to each sitting and this tables' food had taken longer. We were temporarily seated at a small table and ordered coffee - drank it and ordered brunch...granny was not happy! Once we moved to our table the food arrived and was enjoyable, the host and waitress attentive until we wanted to use the debit machine. The waitress was out of sight so I went to the counter to seek assistance... this is where the wheel fell off under pressure. The young lady who had been running meals to tables was the only one to ask and she loudly informed me, 'I am too busy your waitress will do it!'. My daughter who was still at our table in the corner even heard the exchange. Just to say that when it is a 'special day' the owner/manager should perhaps be present to keep his staff calm so that this one does not bite off my head at a simple request.. Overall we all had a lovely brunch but this was soured at the end. P.S. Some attention to detail - would be nice to wish the mom's as they sit and perhaps even offer them a little sweet from the...
Read moreWe stayed for three nights at Parks Edge BnB as my sister lives in the neighborhood. The two rooms of this BnB are cosy and have most everything that one could need. Craig, the owner, went out of his way, when we mentioned our room was a bit stuffy the first night, to go out and buy each room a fan. You must get breakfast included when you stay- the food next door at Cafeen is amazing! The staff there are very warm and welcoming and we enjoyed chatting with them each morning. Of the two rooms, I would recommend that you book the front room as it is the one with the view of Table Mountain. It also has a proper shower, whereas the second room has a bathtub with a handheld shower head. The only things missing for me from our room was a power point in the bathroom and a hair dryer (but I never asked Craig, their may be one you can use if you ask for it). We also enjoyed daily visits from one of their cats called Tigger. Missing our pups at home, it was great to have a pet for a few days. Overall, would recommend and would stay again and looking forward to on our next trip...
