The setup with all the plants is really very nice and it has a soothing, calming effect. It's great to sit outside, but not when it's very hot because there's only space for one umbrella. The other tables are surrounded by tree stumps. This can still be very pleasant in cooler weather, though. The food was really good but the drinks were disgusting. We ordered a mojito and daiquiri, respectively, and they both tasted like kool-aid or worse. There was no ice in our drinks, and we had to ask for some. They didn't seem to know (or didn't care) how these drinks were supposed to be made, so they brought us ice blocks on the side. When I asked for another glass of water, the waitress just ran tap water over my used piece of lemon that was already in the glass. I had to ask her to please bring me a fresh glass of water, with fresh ice and fresh lemon. The bathroom is situated at the back, and you have to walk through a narrow passage past all the food stuff in order to get to it. While the toilet seat is very cute and fancy with a plant design (to match the restaurant theme, I guess), it's difficult to get in and out of the bathroom. And there was a constant swarm of flies flying over the toilet. There were also no towels / paper towels to dry your hands after you've washed them. So you either have to leave with wet hands or wipe them on your own clothing. This restaurant is not all bad. They just need to polish up on their areas of development.

The place was packed due to a party, so there was about a 10 minute wait( Saturday). There is an option to book . Fully Halaal. If you plan on visiting, be aware that the space is tiny but quite lovely with overhanging plants, giving it a forestry feeling. The bench was quite hard and uncomfortable, and the plank shifted as I moved. The hostess was very nice and the waitress was friendly. Scanning the menu, hubby chose an Omelette and Chai latte , only noticing a few minutes later that there was a tastier option . However, the waitress said it was too late to change it . I wanted a milkshake, which they didn't have, so I settled for the Berry smoothie and the Toasted Tikka Chicken Mayo served with fries. My husband's latte arrived first, which he finished before the Omelette arrived. A minute later, my food arrived with Smoothie a few minutes later. Hubby enjoyed the Omelette, although it was quite basic. It was not served with toast , and you had to order it separately. The toasted chicken was divine, so tasty! My smoothie was nice but warm, so I asked for ice and added it. Much better! Hopefully, meals will be served simultaneously if we choose to visit again for that Selva breakfast.

Lovely fully halaal cafe in Harfield Village. There is seating for 18 patrons inside so it is on the small side. We were there early so seating was not an issue. There is seating available outside as well with patio umbrellas to provide cover from the harsh sun. Only street parking is available so it may be a challenge to find a spot when it's busy. However, there was ample parking available when we were there. The cafe itself is very lovely with huge ceiling fans providing some relief from the heat. The cafe is adorned with plants which gives an oasis kind of feel to the establishment. Our waitress, Ilhaam, was amazing. She was friendly, courteous and attentive and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. The coffee was top-notch and the freshly squeezed orange juice was refreshing and delicious. I had the Eggs Florentino on Ciabatta bread and my wife had the Chicken Mayo with Avo toastie (on Ciabatta bread). Both were good and hit the spot. We also tried the almond croissant which was on the heavy side. Pricing is a bit on the high side. Overall, the place is lovely with good coffee and food and great service. Recommended.

Selva Café & Co. is one of Claremont’s most stylish and welcoming spots — a perfect blend of modern design, relaxed atmosphere, and truly exceptional coffee. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the scent of freshly ground beans and a warm, earthy aesthetic that instantly sets a calm, inviting tone. The coffee at Selva is top-tier — smooth, full-bodied, and expertly balanced. Whether you go for a cortado, flat white, or a single-origin pour-over, the attention to detail is clear in every cup. The baristas are passionate and knowledgeable, always happy to chat about their beans or recommend something new to try. The menu strikes just the right balance between wholesome and indulgent. Expect beautifully plated brunch classics, fresh baked goods, and inventive lunch options that highlight local ingredients. Their pastries are particularly worth mentioning — flaky, buttery, and baked fresh daily. The space itself is bright, modern, and filled with greenery, giving it a refreshing, tranquil feel. It’s ideal for both solo coffee breaks and long, easy catch-ups with friends. There’s a quiet hum of activity without ever feeling crowded — the kind of café where you instantly feel at ease. In short, Selva Café & Co. captures everything great about Claremont’s café culture: exceptional coffee, thoughtful food, and a beautiful, laid-back atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that keeps you coming back — not just for the coffee, but for...

Absolutely disastrous! I visited selva on my birthday for a breakfast with my mother & wife ,it was my mothers suggestion as I wanted to go elsewhere, we got there got seated then had a waitress that had no people skills and very incompetent as she screwed up my order twice I sent my meal back the first time but after the second screw up I decided to let it slide and just politely brought it to the waitresses attention to which she replied she will tell the manager and chef etc the owner was also present and not 1 of them came to apologize. My mother then gave them a bad rating which they didn't take lightly instead of issuing an apology the owner of selva "HP" contacted my mother's work demanding she be dealt with and for her to take the bad rating down that's a Coward act and very disgraceful and you call yourself a muslim, I then called the store and the owner answers and blatantly lies to me to say the "owner " isn't present he listens to my complaint and says he will get back to me which he never did I asked who I'm speaking to the guy says HP which is the owner and thinks I'm stupid.I am very disgusted in this behavior I will Never ever visit again or recommend any of my family or friends to visit...
