Unashamedly, unassumingly, unpretentiously DIVINE little gem in the heart of Walmer. It was such a highlight to finally get to experience what the fuss is all about at KOK ASIAN CAFÉ.

The most exciting fusion of flavours, beautifully and proudly presented by the chef/owner (whose name I didn’t get, unfortunately). We are no food fundi’s, but we were really blown away by the great service and especially the array of dishes that were presented to us. The proverbial cherry on top had to be the dessert - simply mouthwatering!

Will we go back? WITHOUT A DOUBT!!!

Thank you for a gastronomical delight of an evening to all involved at KOK ASIAN CAFÉ! PS: they are not licensed, so bring your own alcohol. Glasses and ice are provided, and they do have soft drinks and...

We had an amazing dinner at Kok. A very unique dinning experience, where the chef served us his choice of dishes until we told him we have had enough (he first checked that we didn’t have any dietary restrictions). The food was so flavourful, and one could taste the freshness of the ingredients. He served us an assortment of tapas as starters, pad thai and teriyaki steak for mains, and his take on a malva pudding for dessert. The atmosphere also resembled the restaurants one would find in Thailand and Indonesia. If you are booking for a meal experience where you are transported to a foreign country during your meal, along with amazing food, this...

Most disappointing night out celebrating my birthday! Very ‘clever’ and opinionated owner who also serves as the waiter. The menu on the board is of no use as the owner told us that he will prepare meals for all four of us and go through the menu- in spite of us asking for separate meals as per the menu he insisted on giving us meals for the table. This was a rip-off , food was at most okayish, but nothing to get excited about. The bill was way more than had we ordered our own meals. So NO, KOK won’t see me again- makes me think of a word that sounds like KOK but with a...

This restaurant specialises in Thai inspired South East Asian dishes. Though it might seem like a somewhat strange location for a restaurant the ambience inside with all the tropical plants create the perfect setting. They have a great vegan selection. Their prices are very reasonable and the restaurant has a good wine selection even for the picky wine drinker. The service was good and the owner is a great host. They have live music performances on some evenings so contact them to find out when the next evening is. All round a good experience worth a few more visits.

Edit: Kok This restaurant moved from being named Otak-Otak in Mount Pleasant to Kok in Stanley Street. The food was absolutely incredible tonight. The menu is slightly different, but all the old favourites are still here. The flavours were all perfectly balanced, and we really enjoyed our meal. Definitely worth the visit! Otak-Otak review: One of PE’s hidden gems. I love coming here because the food is always good. Definitely try the fresh spring rolls and the coconut shake! lol
