For a place with a list of bullet points concerning etiquette on the front page of their menu, I found it ironic that etiquette was blatantly ignored during our experience.

(Summary: good food, but not worth the horrible service. Expect over 2hrs with only 1 drink order)

We were seated by the maître d' and then ignored for at least 15mins to get our drinks order which took almost 45mins to arrive (simple bottled beer and canned soft drinks). Our meal order was taken, and took nearly an hour to arrive. While we were waiting for our food, no drinks order was offered. The sushi came to the table, and then we waited another 10mins for the other two items to arrive. All other restaurants manage to observe this etiquette.

Some of our food did not arrive, but now we had spent over 2.5hrs in the restaurant growing more agitated and frustrated. We decided to get the cheque and leave. We were asked three times if we'd still like the last item we ordered (45mins after the last item of food arrived).

The cheque then took another 20mins before we stood up and walked to the counter to pay. At which point the waiter said for a fourth time "the last item of our order is on the way". On recieving the cheque, we had 3items we never received (2 that we did order but never arrived, and 1 which we did not order at all).

I calculated what I was willing to pay for, told the cashier to bill that amount to my debit card and then left. Then I was told that I should wait for them to void the items on the cheque and wait for another bill to be produced. More waiting and totally unacceptable. I refused to wait longer, paid for what we had received and left.

In summary, the service was appalling!!! Pity, because the food was...

Lovely place, with very attentive waiters. Myself and a friend from Europe visited, he always orders something I have never tried, and I my usual plates - we then share the meals. We ordered two starters, one I did not know and my favorite Tempura Prawns . 3 meals, 2 that I did not know and my old favorite - Thai Green Curry with rice.

The Duck Parcel starter was new to me and not to my taste, I think the brown sauce with the duck was to musky for me, but so well presented and so tender, I just have to understand how it is a favorite for others. I would have to say it a beautiful meal thats not to my taste. The Tempura Prawns were a bit tastier than I expected, very nice.

The Teriyaki beef cubes were honestly about as good as beef gets, I can not suggest or request anything that would make it tastier. The noodles were harder than I like or am used too.

The Black Bean chicken was a new dish to me and it was awesome, I could quiet frankly have ordered this alone and have been satisfied, a complete wonderful full meal. The noodles were hard.

My Thai Green Curry Prawns were just what I wanted, really I expected the Hot to be hotter, but the what I would call medium was really perfect, my expected hot would likely have been less enjoyable. The egg fried rice was disappointing - perhaps some visible egg, I kind of expected too have some egg on and between the rice.

In short the starters and main meals were just hard to fault, perhaps above my normal expectations, really nice. The side dish's seemed a bit less lovingly made. Again - yes. Recommend - yes. Affordable - yes, but on the edge of my regular expenditure budget. A lot of food in each main...

Suki has updated its menu recently. Yeah!!!

The waiter was pleasant but if you needed something, and asked another waiter to supply it, forget it! That wait person ( politically correct speak) would notify your waiter and then you'd wait till his task at another table was done before service at your table would resume. No other waiter would help you.

Secondly, there is an outside stoep.

I smoke! I was not allowed to smoke at my outside table. I was not allowed to smoke in the open corridor next to the stoep. I had to walk around and stand like an adolescent on a stoep in the front of the restaurant.

It's by time that restaurateurs recognize that smokers have rights too. Make one stoep smoking the other not. Close the sliding door to the main restaurant. I lunch or dine for the fellowship and believe me my fellowship was great!

I've had crisper salt and pepper squid. However the smoked vegetables were great but the portion was minute. The chips were dry enough for me to assume they were made in an air fryer

So in summary:The service stuck to the restaurant policy. I was apologetically told I was not allowed to smoke adjacent to the stoep. My food was adequate, the waiter tried, therefore my overall experience rates as satisfactory but not great ....

Wow is what I can say. The atmosphere was personable, our waiter Tony was brilliant. He was there when we needed him but left us to catch up and have an uninterrupted conversation for as long as we needed, he read our table perfectly. We had the pork belly carpaccio and pork dumplings to start, followed by the teriyaki pork, the suki platter, salmon/tuna platter and salmon roses. They brought the sushi out on a boat which was perfect and looked absolutely magnificent, the sushi was amazing. The rice is seasoned and cooked perfectly allowing the delicate flavor of the fish and accompaniments to melt in your mouth. Every bite was beautiful and the perfect amount. The teriyaki pork my husband had, was some of the best he has had. The meat was soft and succulent in a well seasoned and vibrant teriyaki sauce. To end the night we had the chocolate bombs, they were simple yet delicious. The chocolate in the fried wrappers was not too hot that it burnt you tongue yet still being soft. The amarula cream that accompanies them is refreshing and helps brighten them even more. We will definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that is looking for a fantastic place in PE S.A. Suki has set a bar that will be difficult to beat.

We visited the restaurant for our anniversary. Unfortunately, we hadn’t booked a table, but after some consideration by the staff, we were given a table near the door. It was quite small, about the size of a school desk, and we found ourselves a bit cramped for space. The experience had its highlights—the Won Ton soup was very flavorful, and the service was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. However, some parts of the meal didn’t quite live up to our expectations. The spring rolls were okay, though they tasted like they might have been frozen. The sushi was a disappointment—hard and not as fresh as we had hoped. For dessert, the ice cream and brownie was delicious. For a R1000 bill, we left feeling that the sushi in particular wasn’t what we were expecting, especially compared to other local spots, where the quality of sushi is noticeably better. We appreciate the effort from the staff, but overall, the meal didn’t quite meet the mark for such a special occasion.
