Had a lovely late breakfast here the other day. However, I actually became a bit uncomfortable just before we got our food.
Clearly there was a mistake made by one of the staff members, but the way that the manager handled it sounded like he wasn't speaking to a human with all his swearing and shouting. I felt so bad for the staff member, even if they did something wrong, they should not have been treated like that.
Having been a waiter and having ties in the restaurant industry, that manager needs to be careful for how he treats his employees. I don't think I'll be coming here again or recommending it because of how uncomfortable I felt after hearing the manager lose his cool and swear so much!
There is definitely something unlawful going on there and I feel sorry for the staff who work there. I asked my server what the man's name was and the server said Gert through a forced smile. Definitely not how employees should be treated as no restaurant can run without the lifeblood that...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of having lunch at Mug and Bean, where Soso was my waiter, and I must say, his service was exceptional. From the moment I was seated, Soso's warm and friendly demeanor made me feel welcome. He was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that all my needs were met promptly.
Soso's knowledge of the menu was impressive, and his recommendations were spot-on, enhancing my dining experience. His attention to detail and genuine enthusiasm for his job were evident throughout the meal. Soso's excellent service added a special touch to the afternoon, making it truly memorable. I highly recommend requesting Soso if you're dining at Mug and Bean – he will undoubtedly elevate...

My wife ordered two fried eggs and toast separate; eggs were fine, but the toast was soggy and not very appetising. As for the (bottomless) coffee, for me it wasn't hot enough. When I sent it back, it was then microwaved and not replaced with new. I didn't debate the matter. I think that, when the coffee sits in the dispenser for a while, it naturally loses heat - same thing happens with the hot milk? All in all, with prices relatively high, perhaps it was not the best value for money. Unusual for M and B, who generally maintain...
