The Ploughman PE — Restaurant in Eastern Cape

Saw that they had a breakfast special, so I decided to try Plaughmans.

The very first negative I noticed was how unhygienic the table and sugar jar was. I saw the previous meal all over the table. Normally restaurants would give you sugar sachets, but Plaughmans gives you a sugar jar that EVERYONE can use freely, so to prove why its so unhygienic, I spit in my coffee cup, stirred it quite well, and used the same spoon to throw in some more sugar, I didn't continue drinking of course. Let's see if the next people using the sugar thinks it tastes funny.

The second negative was that the waitress forgot to bring the toast, so I was literally staring at my eggs for a good while before the toast even showed up.

The third negative was how salty and burned my bacon was, I'm not exaggerating, whoever is in the kitchen, has a thing for salt, because I could barely eat it.

The fourth AND THE BEST negative, was that when I asked for the bill, I waited probably a good 20 minutes for the bill, because my waitress was either on LUNCH BREAK or WENT HOME. So I had to pay at the counter, and even pay the 10% tip because, 2024.

A positive, was that the mixed berry jam in the container tasted quite nice.

Why this place has such good reviews...

The ambience of the restaurant is so serene that it gives an illusion that everything will be great. I had a cocktail or basically aske the waiter for mix something with vodka because there is no cocktail menu. I had “spicy chicken wing”. Would not recommend that to any. The thing is, I was not hungry but I love food if I’m at a restaurant especially if I’m going for my first time. It's a nice place to get a meal after a long morning of shopping in Moffet on Mein Lifestyle Centre. I enjoyed a delicious avocado smoothy and chicken and mushroom penne pasta dish. Their sweet potato chips are to die for, crispy and sweet, just how I like them. Their meals are very filling and affordable. There are a variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner options.
