Adding to my previous review, my rating is going down
Shocked at this Spur, very sad how quickly the food and service is going backwards
11 & 18 Jan had a meal here. The t-bone quality has gone down, very tough and the portion does not match the gram you order. The overall portions are tiny vs the past, my friend asked for a baked potato and received a miniature potato.
We always end our meals with a waffle, the ice cream machine has been broken now since October, every week the waiter apologise, so managent decide to buy the cheapest most horrible tub ice cream from Spar. Last night we received ice cream that was basically milk, we saw from our table that the ice cream was standing waiting to be collected by waiter, called the red head female manager to show and ask for ice cream that is not melted, she simply said sorry wont get it better than that and walked away.
Its a weakly ritual for us to eat at the Spur and we have officially decided to move on to other restaurants Owners don’t care for customers retention or creating a magical experience anymore. Sad because we have built some good friendships with certain waitresses that goes beyond providing super service with the sxxt circumstances
If not for the staff, ill skip this Spur during summer
We visit this Spur at least twice a week and the last couple weeks the aircon is off. Management refuse to turn on due to cost saving
The staff is sweating and we so uncomfortable, they don’t even add fans
Makes me angry that owners or management gets so greedy that they dont care about creating a comfortable and caring environment for the customers
And again imagine the staff

Read moreWe visted Spur last Sunday and it was such a disappointing experience. Our waitress Andisa didn’t have a good attitude to begin with .After a very long wait ,close to an hour ,the food arrived . I ordered my steak medium,it was rare . I didn't receive an apology,it was just taken and replaced by another waiter as ours was nowhere to be seen . My daughter ordered a kiddies chicken burger . She was served a dry bun and chicken ,no lettuce ,tomoto or onion and no butter on the bun . We called the manager ( as our waitress was not to be seen and never bothered to check up on us during the meal ) We showed her the meal ,she made excuses and said “ this is how most kids like it “ . My husband asked her how is the correct way for it to be served . She confirmed with butter on the buns and the salad . We then requested for it to be served correctly . My husband utilized his utensils for his starter. Our waitress cleared the table . He ordered his main and it was served with no utensils . He asked her for utensils . She gave him a cheeky look and said “ I know ,I will get it “ .
Our kids are not so little anymore so we visited the Spur after maybe two years and sadly it was not a good...
Read moreVery loud music, normal conversation impossible unless you are prepared to speak very loud to your friends and partnership, we asked, twice, for the music to be turned down with no success, a staff member named Milardi, then came to tell is that he is aware and agreed that the music is far too loud but that no worker on the premises had access to the radio controls, only the owner could access the controls and he was not there. We then walked out without ordering anything at all. We were the only customers in the smoking section of this Spur at the time, the loud music was actually needless. This loud music appears to be a new thing at Spur, us having suffered the same experience at King Shaka airport in KZN a week ago. Spur, we are there to eat, make business deals, relax, take out the kids, enjoy your usually good food, NOT to disco, there are plenty of nightclubs and bars available if listening to overly loud music and Spur Radio were our main intention when visiting...
