To Whom It May Concern
I would just like to bring it to the Attention for Spur Head Office that me and my Wife had our 10 year Anniversary Dinner at Spur Misty Creek Ben Fleur Witbank.
We are regulars at this Spur as well and always Experienced great service and food.
But our Dinner & Experience on the 25th of May 2024 at 16h00, was Very Very bad,I did request to talk to the Manager where we had a Conversation whereas I raised my Complaint and he Apologised and took my Name and Number to follow up with My Complaint.
Our Main courses that Arrived eventually was Very Cold,Not even the chips was hot Anymore,I had No Mustard that was Supposed to Accompany my Eisbein. Our Drinks was Supposed to Arrive together with our Main Course,and we waited over half an hour for our drinks to arrive after we received our Main Course,whereas by then our food was COMPLETELY Ice Cold,and Still No drinks Arrived.
Our waiter was Missing In Action the whole hour as well, we saw him twice in that hour,didn't ask us if we wanted Anything Else,if Everything was In order with our Food,Nothing he was just MIA the Whole time.
I Eventually asked one of the Cleaners,that Cleans the tables to Bring us our Doggy bags so we Can at least finish our Meal at home and go and get Something to Drink at least with our Food,and then the Cleaner brought The wrong Packaging for us to put our Food in,and we asked for the Bill so we can Leave,but our Waiter was still "Missing".
That is when I got up to go and find the Manager,whom also couldnt be found but eventually showed up in about 10 minutes of waiting for him, whom I then Explained my Complaint to and he Eventually Called our Waiter to also bring us the Correct Packaging for our Doggy Bags and provide us with the Bill,after that we left and went home.
I told the Manager that I am at a lost for Words Really as to what happened and Gobsmacked regarding the Service we Experienced,as yesterday was my Birthday,and the 25th of May was our 10 year Anniversary as well.
I am so Disappointed in Spur and Really am in Disbelief as to what happened. I actually just Spend R800,spent an hour there just to come back home to finish my Meal,that I could have ordered through Mr D.
Think I will just order takeout in the future from Spur,as I still love the food,but the Service a big No No,and no Sitdown...

I ordered 400g of Ribs and all I got was 3 bones with very little meat on. My wife ordered fish which was very dry and tasteless, full of bones as well. I know fish has bones but alot of bones are removed when the fish is bought from the supplier. My son ordered a pizza which was like dough, almost as if it was cooked in the microwave. I beleive good service always deserves a tip and even though we got bad service I'm kind hearted enough that's why I still tipped my waitress who rushed to the door when I went to pay. No thank you or anything. If a waiter / waitress relies on their tips for extra money they should. Give unforgettable service. Only positive was the play area. Unfortunately the lady who was meant to be watching the kids sat on her phone most of the night until the kids went through draws they shouldn't have gone through and put all the party masks in. Even another parent mentioned it that their is not Much supervision from staff. I remember the good ol d Days at Spur when you got service with a smile and ribs were ribs with meat on them. Consistency is key. I am a qualified Chef by trade and every dish I put out of the kitchen had 100% passion in it. Read moreTerrible service everytime we visited. We waited more than 15 min the last 4 times we visited just to stand up and ask the waiter if they can please come take our drink orders. I am a huge spur fan and give the waiters the benefit of the doubt but to have the same experience 4 times in a row means something is off. Every time I have had to stand up and go and call my waiter, who is usually standing and chatting to the other waiters.
We were at Misty Creek spur this morning, only to receive our menus and wait 15 minutes without anyone coming to our table. We decided to leave and nobody even noticed. We are currently sitting at Smokey Ridge spur and have already received our drinks and been asked twice if we are ready to order our meals since arriving 10 minutes ago.
