Mugg & Bean — Restaurant in Free State

Really unsatisfactory experience. They didn't have ingredients for a special menu item, so we started strong by having to change our drink order. The new advertised chilly bowl also didn't have all of the ingredients and only filled half of the bowl. The rice was extremely overcooked. If you know that you don't have ingredients available, why not inform the customer that they will be missing part of their full priced meal? So we literally paid for something we only got about 60% of. The hash browns on the Eggs Benedict was soggy, the tomato slice was twice as thick as the hash browns. Asked for crispy bacon but got soggy ham instead. Ordered soft eggs, but got hard instead The staff are friendly but our waiter was constantly fiddling on his phone the whole time we were there and taking the order with a ringing phone in hand. And the fact that we weren't informed by the kitchen and waiter about the fact that we will be paying full price for a meal that had missing ingredients is...

No opening specials. The vanilla ice cream shake was made from sorbet after specifically requesting ice cream. Standard menu platter (no salad) took nearly 30 minutes in a non-full restaurant. Their famous braaibroodtjie tasted overly and overtly dressed in chutney with underdone onions and cheese thar wasn't melted. Young patrons close to me were disgusted with their pizza. Even though I asked permission to took photos for Google Maps not once did a manager check in on my order or if the order was prepared successfully to taste/order. I decided rather to spend my desert money somewhere else. Mugg& Bean section of the Ocean Basket and Panarottis will have to wait until I visit Noordstad again. It was a waste of money and one of my few severe under raters to not go again. I waited 15 min for my account. Lost a customer due to unprofessionalism. My partner and I visited this establishment to order some hot and cold drinks.

I ordered the pineapple and cucumber iced drink and the waiter recommended another drink-- a mock tail, which I accepted.

Upon arrival of our drinks, our waiter commented that I should rather have the mock tail, as the pineapple and cucumber drink was for individuals who gym, and I did not look like I gymned.

Comments like these, and the general laid back, no-rush attitude of the server ruined our time. Banter like this between friends is fine, but within a work place with someone you have never met or understand anything about, is not acceptable.
