33 on Bond Restaurant — Restaurant in Gauteng

My experience at 33 On Bond was nothing short of fantastic. My server (Anya) was fantastic, and the food was lovely. however, there are definitely certain things that need major work. The manager (Ben, a third-year hospitality student) was extremely passive-aggressive. I complained about my food being late to my server and reassured her that this was not her fault. The manager approached us, apologizing and stating that our food had only taken 20 minutes, essentially pushing the narrative that I, as a customer, was incorrect. This left me feeling very uncomfortable. Our food had taken over 40 minutes; I'm sure a simple explanation could rectify this, however, the manager made excuses and became extremely defensive, which is not how a manager is to behave. We arrived at our booking and the table was so big that we had to move our chairs closer together which was a minor inconvenience but fine, the atmosphere was great, Brooke, Anya and Emma where great and so lovely and welcoming. However after waiting 40 minutes for our food we asked the manager where the food was and told him that it had been 40 minutes, the manager (I think his name was Ben?) blatantly lied to our faces and said that it had only been a 20 minute wait even when we disagreed with him he reaffirmed the fact that it had only been a 20 minute wait and told us that we were wrong even though I had been watching the time. A beautiful serene restaurant nestled at the Swiss hotel school. The food is made by professional chef students and served by friendly hospitality students. When you enter the place, you are welcomed by the manager and you are seated outside or inside depending on your preference. Then you are showed to a serve yourself starters compromising of different varieties of food and spreads. You then order lunch, drink and dessert.
