ATE HERE ON THE 28TH FEBRUARY 2025 AT 20:00PM This restaurant has earned a well-deserved 5-star rating from me. Every dish was expertly prepared, presented, and served. The service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting.Every aspect of our visit was truly outstanding, from the excellent service to the exquisite atmosphere and, of course, the sublime cuisine. ●SERVICE (The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Our server was happy to answer questions about the menu, made excellent recommendations, and ensured that our glasses were always full. The staff's enthusiasm and passion for the food they serve are evident in every interaction.) ●ATMOSPHERE (The restaurant's atmosphere is modern, sleek, and sophisticated, with a warm and inviting ambiance. The décor is tasteful, with subtle lighting and comfortable seating. The background music is unobtrusive, allowing for easy conversation.) ●CHICKEN AND CORIANDER SPRING ROLLS WITH SWEET CHILLI SAUCE ( Crispy, flavorful, and addictive, these springrolls were the perfect start to our meal. The sweet chilli sauce added a delightful kick.) ●SPICY SALMON (Thinly sliced salmon, drizzled with a sticky soy and chilli oil mixture, topped with crispy onion, jalapeño, and Wasabi mayo. This dish was a masterclass in balancing flavors and textures.) ●CHICKEN AND CHILLI POTSTICKERS WITH A SPICY SOY SAUCE (Pan-seared to perfection, these potstickers were filled with a delicious chicken and chilli mixture. The spicy soy dipping sauce added an extra layer of flavor.) ●MIRIN SALMON (The mirin orange glaze was sweet and sticky, complementing the black rice and burnt orange and fennel salad perfectly. This dish was a work of art) ●VIETNAMESE LATTE PANNACOTTA (A creamy vanilla bean pannacotta topped with condensed milk and espresso. This dessert was a revelation – rich, creamy, and utterly delicious) ●FLOURLESS ALMOND CHOCOLATE TORTE (A decadent chocolate and almond cake paired with strawberry ice cream. This dessert was a chocolate lover's dream come true) ●SALMON AND AVOCADO CALIFORNIA SUSHI ROLL (Fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared, this sushi roll was a delight.) ●TUNA MAKI SUSHI (Another sushi highlight, the tuna was sashimi-grade, and the maki roll was perfectly crafted.)

EDIT: I have recently have checked the bill. To my disappointment I have realised that they added extra food to my bill that we did not eat! (I should have checked there and then, but this matter should have never happened in the 1st place). This is something that extremely wrong! So, please be careful and check your bill before you pay. -I deducted an overall star, and put the service rating to a 1 star. This Asian fusion restaurant is a lovely restaurant to go on a date, a special occasion or just to eat asian food (but not that authentic). I must say that the 1st thing to say about the place is that the way the place is decorated is beautiful. With a blossom tree as the focal point. While the atmosphere has a chilled viby feel to it. The food here is overall good, not something to brag about, but not bad either. I do recommend you order the Tempura Prawns here, as when I came here, it was very tasty, fresh, and Huge in size-this I hope it doesn't change, as its the main reason for why I would come back to eat here. Basically, any dish that has prawns in was very yummy. If you like spicy food, most of the noodles are not spicy, even if "spicy" is in the name or shown as spicy on the menu (I had the spicy beef ramen, which didn't have any spice to it at all). The noodles I would say are average in taste, not something I would rave about but not terrible either. It is also good to mention that the food is a bit pricey for it's portions when it comes to the starters or the dumplings, if you want to take that into consideration. The service here was very friendly, but not that attentive (Everytime we needed the waiter, he would avoid eye contact when we waved for service-sometimes we would be looking for service/waving for more than 5 minute, and it wasn't a busy night.) However, they did make us feel welcome, and the manager did check up on us at a certain point of the night.

Horrible experience we had at Blubamboo. The food and drinks are really expensive for absolutely nothing. I tried the egg fried rice and it tasted like steamed rice that had been drenched in soy sauce, it did not come with any protein and we were charged R40 extra for a few pieces of chicken. My partner had the chicken ramen noodles and even that was bland, tough noodles that just tasted like soy sauce soup. Their chefs do not know how to execute the dishes on their menu. We even questioned if we should leave after starters, and decided to stay and later regretted this decision. I would not recommend this place, save yourself the time and money. It is not worth it. Even after expressing our disappointment to the manager, we were just left with the usual, “I’m sorry, will pass this on to the kitchen”. The waiters are not the friendliest and literally stand on top of you while you’re eating, when asking about dishes they do not know what to recommend and also got one of our orders wrong. JUST DONT GO.

50% of the food ordered was bland, terrible, spices not cooked through! If you're going to have an Asian cuisine restaurant then EMPLOY A CHEF WHO SPECIALIZES IN COOKING ASIAN CUISINE! How can you serve the CHILLI CHICKEN DUMPLINGS with NO chilli and just plain bland steamed or boiled chicken in it. It tasted horrible!!! We ordered 2 Five Spice Duck Mains and the Five SPICE DUCK TASTED LIKE THE SPICE WAS HALF BURNT AND HALF RAW JUST THROWN ONTO THE DUCK, The ENTIRE MEAL WAS DRY AND POTATOES TASTED HORRIBLE. One of the dishes had a sauce on the side, the other duck meal had none. What's the point of trying to make a plate look "fancy", when it tastes terrible??? The other main spicy beef ramen with chilli soy, had basically no Spicy Beef or chilli. I DID ASK THE HOST/MANAGER IF She knew HOW ASIAN FOOD WAS SUPPOSED TO TASTE AND the excuse of the host/manager was, she doesn't know about spicy or chilli food because she has ulcers and that's the way they receive the dumplings from their suppliers! Should you not taste the food you plan to serve before you open a restaurant??? Was there even a taste test done??? The owners need to seriously rethink their menu and their service! There were so few waiters that they struggled to serve all the tables! We waited so long to be served and couldn't get the attention of a waiter and when we did, the excuse was that they will call our waiter who was servicing outside too. Owners of Blu Bamboo(same owners as Doppio Zero), please catch a wake up! You cannot employ so few waiters and work them to the death while your customers are waiting to be served! If that's the case then rather have a take away restaurant if you cannot afford to pay more waiters! Please recheck your supplies of your dumplings and other meals, and get your chefs trained on cooking Asian cuisine and especially for the prices you are charging!!!! Prices should be dropped! R200 FOR THE DUCK and it should never have left the kitchen! There were other 3 starters which we ordered that tasted good, however that does not negate the fact that rest of the food and experience at your restaurant still...
