Thank you Grand Lake Spur and a special thanks to our waiter K.G.
We made a booking via email a few days ago for mothers day lunch yesterday, firstly I was impressed when my email was responded to quickly and it was not to long after a manager called me to confirm the booking and occasion and time.
When we arrived we were taken to our table which was reserved next to the play area as requested and my name was there as well as the amount of people attending (glad I booked in advance as the place was packed).
We were welcomed by a very friendly waiter with a warm smile, his name was K.G., as busy as they were he made sure to keep checking in on us and make sure we were ok. Even though the food took a while to get to us we didn't mind as the food was really good and we could see how busy it was and this lovely gentleman kept updating and checking in on us throughout our stay there.
I didn't see a manager pop past to check in on us during our time there, however again, we didn't bother too much as the waiter was very attentive and we really enjoyed the food.
The play area is small, but modern and clean and they were offering face painting to the kids for free which was nice.
Then just before leaving, we (the moms) received a little gift, a spur voucher of R100 and a little lip balm from skinPHD - how thoughtful was that!;) Made us feel really special, thank you so much!
This was our second happy visit and experience at this Spur and we will definately return again to make use of our...
Read moreRecently visited the play area with my little one and had a wonderful time! However, I noticed that the age range allowed in the play area seems a bit broad. As a parent, I'd love to see a more defined age separation to ensure the safety and enjoyment.
I strongly feel that the play area is suitability for children aged 7 and below. At this age, kids are naturally energetic, curious and do not sit still. The play structures are perfect for them.
Children aged 8 and above are generally better able to sit still and engage in quieter activities with their parents.
This age separation is crucial to prevent accidental injuries from rough play. Younger children can be easily overwhelmed or intimidated by older kids, and this separation will allow them to play freely without disruptions.
Looking forward to...
Read moreThe outside umbrella’s one arm broke loose and swingend pass my face seconds after I moved backwards on my chair missing me with mm. We sat at an outside table just outside the door. A customer ran to me to hear if I’m ok as he described it - it could have been a disaster if it dit hit me on the side of my head/face. Me wearing spectacles! I was very shocked but not ONE Spur staff member came to our table to hear if I’m ok!!! I called the manager just after we paid - told him what happened - I’m sorry mam. The entrance to the Spur has stickers on “MIND THE STEP” small kids cant read and it is a hassle for disabled people and wheelchair users! One child fell and got hurt while we hand brunch. I told the manager that I’m sure with my next visit to the mall the umbrella will...
