So it was 06:00 pm ( Sunday) My husband and I decided to go /out for dinner at Larprada, which was 3 min away from home. After reading the negative reviews about the place about 2 months ago about this brunch we still decided to go support them.
It was now 06:15 ( please view your cameras) my husband and I were standing and waiting to be seated, the place was not busy, and there was a game on at that time on the TV.
There were 2 waiters male and female standing next to each other. The female waiter saw us and walked away and the male waiter ( wearing a red TV shirt I think the name was Sihle) continued watching the TV as my husband and I waited to be served. Eventually, after some time the male waiter noticed us and approached.
My first question to him was, "Are you interested in the game or your customers" He was so arrogant and back-chatted to me saying no. Yet we stood there and watched him watch the game.
We then found seats which were next to the heater, one was reserved and the other was dirty, a can and a glass. that was not cleaned up.
My husband and I decided to have a seat the female waitress then came to assist us. She took the refresher wipe ( Wet wipes) from the little box of the table and wiped the table with it. OMG that is for customers!!! She should not care attitude.
With the loud music and horrible services received, we then left Laprada and headed to Papa Pranto, it was such a pleasure to go there.
I was kind enough to give this place a try even thou I read the bad reviews. The reviews that were posted previously are...
Read moreMy wife and I went to the branch in Olivedale in October 23 closer to leaving we ordered a steak (R560) to take home but later realised the meat was spoilt. We did contact the manager and sent emails. Not too long after I had friends visiting from Dubai and I suggested that we go for few drinks at Olivedale ( still no refund ). We pitched up and the manager comes and says to my wife that she will not be able to offset tonight’s bill with the refund for steak. SO EMBARRASSING. So I told Audrey that tonight has nothing to do with the last visit. We ended after 1 round of drinks and went to Monte casino. My wife did call her again to remind her of the refund and expressed her feelings on how embarrassing it was when Audrey came to the table to let us know she not offsetting any bill. This manager Audrey was giving us the run around and at a point towards the end of this matter she put the phone down on my wife when we were chasing her for the refund. My wife is always taking clients out and she will not be visiting this branch again.
Thanks to the area manager we finally got our refund in Jan 24 . It was my first time visiting Laparada. And it’s experiences like this I strongly suggest you save your thousands, rather drink at home but if you must go out rather go spend your thousands at their other branches or their sister company...
Read moreWe had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant on a Friday night, and the initial atmosphere was quite enjoyable. The first DJ set the perfect mood with some nostalgic old-school music, and the lively crowd couldn't resist dancing along. However, when the second DJ took over, it felt like they were more interested in their personal music choices, which unfortunately led to a decline in the overall ambiance, and most patrons returned to their tables.Regrettably, the dining experience wasn't without its hiccups. The food, to be honest, left something to be desired. Our waiter needed a gentle reminder three times before finally bringing my drink, a half-hour wait that was less than ideal. While the pizza was generously portioned, its flavor was somewhat lacking, and other menu items failed to impress as well. That being said, the shining star of the evening was undoubtedly the sauce accompanying the prawns – it was simply outstanding.Despite these ups and downs, the restaurant was bustling with activity, creating a generally pleasant atmosphere. I might not return for the food, but if the first DJ becomes a regular fixture, I'd be tempted to revisit for the...
