If there was a negative rating on Google this is the one and only place I would rate with a negative 5, negative - 5 stars.

So a little bit about my experience at this place, I walked in took a seat and was greated by an extremely unfriendly ridiculously un customer centric human being I've ever come across in my life in the customer service industry. The Chelsea game was on, I'd just taken a seat with no intentions of eating as id just come from dinner and thought I'd catch a drink with some friends and family only to be met with the utmost disrespect from a gentlemen called Rob. I was not once approached or asked if I wanted something to drink or eat but immediately greeted with hostility and aggravation, got shouted at from across the bar so I got up and walked towards the shouting gentleman and asked if everything was okay and he proceeded to take advantage of my good nature and he continued to shout telling me that the kitchen was closed and that they were not taking orders because the kitchen was closed, Which is understandable so I apologized and sat down again. I then thought to myself I'm not comfortable here so I decided to leave. As I was walking out he decided to continue with he's aggressive behavior, by saying "what did you say are you talking to ME!!? PLEASE LEAVE WE DON'T NEED YOU Here" , and I said nothing to him at all besides the latter. So I went back and said excuse me why are you being so hostile, aggressive and inhospitable all I want Is to be comfortable. The thing that bothers me most is that I recognize him from high school which was the most painful part of my whole ordeal at this place. I guess my mistake was thinking that he was educated enough to realize the importance of respect in our rainbow nation. Although, apparently Rob has a reputation for being a little bit on the racist side as the staff and other customers came to console me about he's behavior and attitude as they had seen what had transpired, saying that he has such tendancies and they are used to seeing this.... I'd hate to be the one to point out racial segregation. But for the first time As a South African I felt like I was inferior due to the colour of my skin, especially because id done nothing to warrant this man's attitude and behavior towards me as a paying customer. On the other hand staff, and customers, a like told me that I should never come back as they are racist in their ways and I was not welcome at all. Rob then came outside where my vehicle was parked and found it fit to continue taunting me from afar. I am extremely disappointed with this place called La Piovra and do not recommend...

After joining an event, we were starving and needed some food asap. With the lockdown in place at the time most places closed early on a Saturday evening and it was raining. So we needed something on the way home.

La Piovra Bedfordview is a place I've had on my "to eat" list for a long time yet just never got to it. Now was finally our chance. Luckily it was not too busy, and obviously covid protocols adhered to.

Our waiter Paul was such a pleasure, with a great sense of humour. We made it clear we were hungry and needed food asap lol...

We placed our orders as we were weary of time. Throughout lockdown I kept craving prawn pasta, so I immediately went to the pasta section, but I know most people say their pizzas are amazing.

I then saw the Amatriciana Pasta - Tomato, Bacon, Chillies, Garlic and Herbs, the BONUS I could have it with Gnocchi. So I changed it to Gnocchi instead. My sister had the Girasole - Stuffed Pasta with Salmon and Ricotta Cheese served with Butter and Sage (or you could have napoletana sauce)

Wow guys, when our food arrived hot and freshly made. It was like heaven on a plate. I've never had such a flavoursome meal in a long time. I could easily have ordered another portion and polished it off. My sister even said her food was amazing. While eating we were watching how many pizzas they were popping out for deliveries or collections it was ridiculously busy in that aspect, so glad that people are still supporting local eateries and this one has been around a long time.

I definitely need to go back for some more food and maybe start off with the Gnocchi again as a starter 😋

We just finished our meals off with Cappuccinos and off we went to ensure we were home before the curfew.

If you in the area definitely give them a try. Food is AMAZING, the service was great and it's nice and spacious inside. Loved the decor with all the explanations on the...

I called this establishment on a Friday evening and placed an order over the phone, I was told to please come in thirty minutes. I arrived timeously only to wait in line for 15 minutes, fighting for someone to assist me and be acknowleged. After finally paying for my order I was told to wait another ten minutes for my food to be ready. I would also like to add that I am not unawares to how busy a Friday night service can get, and I would have understood if I was told told over the phone that the wait would be longer. Once I received my food it was cold so I'm not sure what exactly I was waiting for? For me the overall experience was quite terrible and the food was mediocre at best, I wasn't at all made to feel welcome or that my food was made with even the slightest bit of care or consideration, which is after all why we choose to eat and some places and not others. So all in all the attitude I was met with and the food I received did not provide me with a good experience, so on that note I cannot say I recommend this restaurant and would rather send business the way of one of the many other Italian restaurants...
