Reasons why 1 star rating; bottomless coffee, hot milk or cold? Cold please. I receive cold once and the rest of the time I received hot, shows the waitress didn't care/pay attention. Lady sitting next to me who my waitress is not serving, they are having laughs and a grand time but when it comes to me, who she is serving, not one smile, not one thanks you for coming to M&B or thanks for the tip (which I shouldn't have given). Can I have jam with my toast? The jam comes, but no butter knife, so I should use a steak knife. She is serving me inside at the back, she's standing outside chatting all the time, I have to wait 5 minutes to catch her attention, my time there was spent just trying to catch her attention so I could get a butter knife or cold milk or take away my empty plate or more bottomless coffee. The manager never once came round to check if all was fine and neither did my waitress, just serve and disappear. I must seek out these people so I can voice my frustrations or just bloody order. Might as well be a self service M&B. Most of the time I had to call other waitors to call her from outside. I would feel more supported and like I matter as a customer if the manager checked up or even my waitress. Shylet, my waitress, thanks for making me feel as if I'm ruining her day by coming in as a customer and helping pay her salary. All the best with that...
Read moreI'm do not usually bother to review. the waitress, as previously, was excellent- really good service- she understood my time and tried to serve me quickly! I've taken away cheesecake from other branches for a treat. This was not as fresh, and it was small. There's nice cafes where I can sit, cheese cake is fresher, tastes better and costs less. the only differentiator why i choose m+b is size! I waited, even went to the shops, came back and then waited some more, just to take away 1 slice, probably 20 minutes total! I looked in the box. it was less than half full, with topping! by comparison, from other branches the cheesecake itself makes a mark over half way up the box, aside from topping. It looks smaller than the rest of the cake- like they cut the top off the slice? If i had time i would have sent it back. i did tell the manager, said I had to go, then only tried to start a long explanation not respecting my time. didn't even consider making me less disappointed, or trying to improve my impression or experience. i did very clearly say I had been previously and thought their coffee really good. never go for cake at...

Our management team held a 9am meeting at Mugg & Bean on Thursday (25.09.25), and unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Service was noticeably slow, and when we ordered a muffin, our waitress advised against it—explaining they weren’t fresh. For a brand built on café culture and baked goods, this was both surprising and disappointing. Why would Mugg & Bean not have fresh muffins available in the morning?
This was our second visit that week. On Tuesday (23.09.25), during another breakfast meeting, toast was served without butter or jam. When we asked, we were told we hadn’t requested it. That kind of response reflects a troubling lack of attention to detail and hospitality.
Consistency and care should be the hallmark of any reputable restaurant group. Sadly, both...
