Ordered Full Chicken with 4 sides plus a bottle of coke via Uber. Uber driver was great, communicating with me from the time he was waiting at the restaurant (it wasn't a long wait). When he dropped my package off, it was sealed and all was in order. I opened it to discover one of the sides missing - THE SHARING CHIPS! Immediately contacted Nando's Canterbury to let them know: i stressed to the lady that the package was sealed at delivery, but one side was missing. She put me on hold and came back after a few seconds to assure me that the package had been checked, and both the sharing chips were included. Told her again that the package was sealed, this is not an Uber/driver problem, but rather a Nando's Canterbury issue. I explained that I have hungry children and as a result lodging a complaint via Uber just wouldn't help my situation. She really wasn't interested in assisting or finding a solution to my issue, except to pass the blame to uber and the driver numerous times. I told her that I buy from this branch so often (she nonchalantly answered that I'd bought from this particular at least 40 times via uber this year so far - nevermind Mr D, direct Nando's app and in-store purchases) and that I'm really disappointed at the lack of care and interest in solving a customer issue - especially when I indicated that my kids were hungry and I couldn't just forget about the chips I'd ordered and paid for. She was totally unbothered and uncaring. When we finally sat down to eat (After making an additional plan for the kids), I discovered that they didn't bother to pack serviettes.
Maybe Nando's has got enough customers and can therefore afford to be so rude, uncaring and unmoved by such but I cannot spend my hard-earned money in an establishment where I feel so disrespected and taken for granted. Update 2: second followup. Report says "everything followed regulations and standards" and blamed Uber eats taking long to deliver. Yes, long trip time might explain why the veg burgers were soggy if that was the case but that would only happen if there was sauce on the burgers. Also doesn't explain the chicken burger. They consider the matter resolved. I do not.
Update: emailed customer service as per their reply. Eventually got a call from the store. They mentioned they would follow up. Never received a follow up call. Tried to ask ask customer service what's going on and the query was closed. How is that supposed to resolve the issue?
We order online from this Nandos and the Malibongwe one once every month or so.
We stopped ordering from Malibongwe due to issues with the wedges and portion sizes being inconsistent and Canterbury seems to be following suit.
We ordered a single portion of wedges and a sharing portion of wedges and there was 15g difference between the two. That is ridiculous. Wedges came dry and hard with a powdery taste.
Full portion livers also shrank in size, barely filling half the container they usually deliver it in.
We order extra sauce on burgers, an option they usually do but this time round we had no sauce on any of the 3 burgers. The only flavour of heat I got was from the livers.
The veg burgers were soggy even though there was no sauce. The lettuce in both the veg burgers and the chicken was limp and soggy, like it was sitting at the store for a while.
Maybe the staff are overworked or we order only during busy times, neither of which should be our concern. Service should be equal at any time of day and...
