PATSHI GUEST HOUSE — Hotel in Gauteng

I stayed at Patshi Guest House when I went for a conference in Randburg, South Africa. It was suitable for our purpose as we had travelled as a group and we were sharing 4 people in a room. The owner is quite pleasant and very helpful for he can go out of his way to ensure guest convenience (he would shuttle us to and fro conference venue at a reasonable price). Although the staff cannot speak English fluently, their friendliness overshadowed the communication breakdown and we resorted to communicating our requests via the owner. The swimming pool was clean and they also sell assorted beverages at the reception. The place is quite close to the shops/mall and most conference venues.||||Only front facing room have Wi-Fi-connectivity which meant the rest of us had to go and sit by the reception area to get connected. However, a lot can be improved on change of bed linen and bathmats as we were sharing a single shower unit. General dusting can also improve this establishment. Their self-catering facilities proved inadequate as different groups had to wait to use limited kitchen equipment. Kudos for the strategically placed microwave ovens for heating up food!||||I recommend it if you are travelling on group or individual business and require budget...

We arrived coming from Durban at 2am. Before leaving Durban we confirmed with the owner with regards to staying over. My husband and I were booking in for a month. 5 mins before we got there I phoned the owner to confirm and he gave the go ahead and said security is waiting and will open and give you keys to room number three. Upon arrival we get chased like dogs stuck outside early hours of the morning bare in mind we are from Durban and know nobody here. I felt like crying. But luckily that happened coz we then find out that they are running a brothel there. The high class ladies there to entertain guests are escorts. Putrid. I cannot believe it. Rude staff unprofessional owner. Luckily Angel guest house accommodated us. Super friendly staff. Well worth the R600 fee. Clean rooms and they maintain a professional manner. Patshi Lodge...
