Ocean Basket Mall@55 — Restaurant in Gauteng

To be honest I would prefer to rare zero but it doesnt allow. Drove a far drive to the restaurant with my family to order the platter special for the July month that comes with the OB Soda. When I arrived at the restaurant I waited 20 mins until a waiter asked if I have been assisted. I attempted to place a order and was told that there is no OB Soda but it is being replaced with a coke, I requested to substitute for something else like a cordial and pay a difference but I was told that the system will not allow it and that I can only take a coke. I left the restaurant without ordering due to this reason.the Manager farhaad refused to make ammendments and further explained that head office is out of OB Soda therefore all ocean baskets are out of OB Soda. This promotions are being advertised on multiple platforms and should such a matter arise where there is a shortage at head office then it should be communicated with the public. There service is extremely bad at this restaurant. If you aren't being billed extra the you are being billed for incorrect items, or extra items are being added to the bill or you either have to face managers and staff that are negative in the work environment therefore resulting in a poor customer experience.Being a Muslim it's not easy to find Halaal restaurants In a close range especially restaurants like ocean Basket, there are more haraam franchises than Halaal ones, it's sad that our Halaal franchises offer a terrible customer service yet we go out of our way to come to your restaurant and support your business. My family and I have wasted our time fuel and efforts and now at 8pm in the night after driving for an hour we must go look for another Halaal restaurant to eat from. I am writing to express my concern regarding the inconsistent service and quality I have experienced at Mall @ 55 Ocean Basket.

Recently, I ordered 12 mussels, which according to the menu are served with 2 rolls and a side. At other branches I frequently visit, specifically Mall @ Reds and Centurion Mall, the rolls are always included without question. However, at this branch the manager informed me that rolls are not part of takeaway meals and must be requested separately. He further explained that at other branches he worked at, rolls were also not offered. This contradicts my experience at the other Ocean Basket locations mentioned above, where I consistently receive them as part of the meal.

Unfortunately, this is not the first negative experience I have had at this branch. On a previous occasion, I was served spoiled rice and also received an incomplete order.

I am a loyal Ocean Basket customer, and it is disappointing to encounter these recurring issues at this location. I kindly request clarification on whether rolls are officially included with this meal across all branches, and I hope appropriate steps will be taken to ensure better quality and consistency at this branch.

Had a surprisingly terrible experience at this Ocean basket. Firstly, we sat down to a dirty table which they took quite long to clear. When a waiter eventually came to clear it she just wanted to place a new paper on the table without wiping first and I had to ask her to wipe it, which seemed to be quite the effort for her. We ordered a platter for one and a platter for two. The portions were minuscule and the food was burnt to a crisp. When we brought this to the attention of the manager, they were extremely unhelpful, hostile and unapologetic. The only thing that made this experience a tiny bit better was our waiter Athi, she was very polite, apologized for the inconvenience, and gave wonderful service. Overall, this experience has tainted my view of this establishment and I will most likely not go back in a hurry, and definitely do not recommend.
