Sunday 9th June arrived at past 6pm.
Picked our table. Our waiter came with menus placed drinks order. My son asked for tea (cold weather). When we received our drinks he had to wait awhile for the sugar, ended up looking around as he just sat while eagerly waiting for the sugar to arrive.
Placed starters for us and kids food order. Cutlery was brought to table...
Got our starters they had their food. When we received our food order it came without the butter (had baked potatoes and no cream) looking around again.....
A helpful hint is please bring accompaniments and necessary cutlery ahead of food because kids didn't even have tomato sauce. Setting up the table helps so if you are busy another server can bring our food and customer can eat and not have to look around for you.
Our waiter asked for other servers to send a drink to one of his other tables and nobody seemed interested in helping. Surely if you help each other on another day someone will help you too. Hubby told him it's fine he can take the other customers drink and come back to us. He was happy with that.
My peeve is on a bill of R1205. 30 I wrote down the servers tip R140 and also wrote down my change amount R54.70 paid cash when he came to collect the bill and payment I told him to please return my change..( from R1400)
He didn't come back to return change and was now busy packing up a work station mind you this is past 7pm now. When he returned he came back with 2 party packs and diverted our attention to leave. How when I tipped you and am waiting for my change.Hubby said I should leave it, It is unethical to take it upon yourself to help yourself to a customers change. Then try to usher them out like that. Happened to be sitting in front of the table of what appears to be the Owner of the place. Staff were just doing too much, from us being called prince and queens and prince's to seeing a server kneel down on floor to serve customers. The kneeling would have had me uncomfortable but not my problem I guess. The ladies restroom was a mess, water on the floor and used tissues on floor and hand wash messed but not cleaned. Not sure if there was even a bin in there. Please can someone check and always ensure it's clean enough for patrons.
Atmosphere was chilled, kids had a happy environment and were under supervision.

Read moreUpdate. I have been contacted by the manager and the issues adressed. I have returned for a 2nd visit and the service and cleanliness is much better. This felt like the trusted Spur experience I am used to.
I decided to order the chicken nachos for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. The meat was tender and well seasoned. The overall meal was great as always.

At first glance I was exited to see a Spur that I haven't seen before. The setup is quite tight and this is probably onw of the smallest ranches I've walked into. Sadly it appears that I got a new waiter that seems to be still finding their feet in this industry.
The table I was seated at had a dry icecream stain on it, first time for me in a Spur that I experience this in a long time. The coffee arrived a bit cold and tasted weak compared to what I am use to.
