Went to a friend's birthday party, we waited half an hour for our waitress to bring a COFFEE and a HUNTERS GOLD while everyone else who came after us got their drinks before us (the table was large so there were different waitresses serving us, our waitress was difficult to find and kept forgetting our simple orders) We asked for Nachos and a drink for our friend who's birthday it was (this was round about 5:35pm, the waitress forgot about the drink and when we reminded her she listed the wrong drink instead of the drink we ordered so we had to correct her)we were assured that the food would come before 6pm because we had to leave by then. We also asked for the bill then to save time, we paid and tipped the waitress (wish we didn't tip her at all) 10 minutes later our waitress comes back and says that our order will not be ready by 6pm so she suggested that we take it takeaway. We waited to the last minute before 6pm and my partner got frustrated and went looking for the waitress to ask for our order, she gave the takeaway to my partner and we left. When we arrived home, to our disappointment WE GOT A HALF CHICKEN AND LESS THAN HALF A HANDFUL OF RICE!! NOT THE NACHOS WE ORDERED! This was my partners first time at the restaurant, I've been going to Pablo's for years and this is unacceptable service and my partner never wants to go again and we won't. I don't recommend Pablo's to anyone, this is not the standard that they...
Read moreThis was my comment about 3-4 years ago, but it's all changed: (I love the vibe and the cuisine. A platter shared among friends with some margaritas is a great way to enjoy a meal. We liked it to much, we went back 3 days later again! Excellent and well priced too.)
23/11/2020: Sadly, since this, I have experienced meals with bad chicken (twice), which the manager blamed on the marinade used. Then on Friday 20/11/2020, my family and I went out for cocktails and dessert (we won't eat there anymore).
Firstly, your prices have gone up a LOT on cocktails. We spent over R1000 on shooters and cocktails, but Pablos CANNOT get their cocktails right! Two of the three margaritas were watery, the third too strong (and nowhere near as good as they used to be - the recipe has changed). The Liquid Cocaine was tasteless, the Mexican Mojito syrupy sweet (nothing like a Mojito), but the worst of all.... the waitress then offered a Pina Colada, a firm favourite of ours. BUT if you're going to make up your own concoction using POPCORN TEQUILA instead of rum (AND WE HAD ALREADY TOLD THE WAITRESS WE DON'T LIKE POPCORN TEQUILA), then you CANNOT call it a Pina Colada!!! Please, do some research on cocktails!! You cannot offer a Pina Colada and then change the recipe!!
Unfortunately, PABLOS, you have now lost our patronage completely. We simply...
Read moreSuch a lovely restaurant with decently priced meals and drinks that won’t break the bank. The night I went out with my partner , we were greeted warmly and chose to sit outside. There was a live performance which was really enjoyable although the music is more rock/alternative based so if you’re looking for hip hop or mainstream music I suggest elsewhere.
The waiter was a bit slow when it came to taking orders and bringing things requested e.g he took a long while to simply bring a water jug to the table , instead he waited others whilst we waited.
When the food did arrive , it was sublime. I had the chicken wings starter which was delicious, my partner had the chicken taco and that too was phenomenal and both portions were fair especially considering the price. The main course, I had the pulled pork burrito (pic attached) and my partner had a chicken burrito which he too enjoyed. The cocktails were decently priced as well considering the pub next door it -Flyerz had significantly higher priced drinks when we changed venues for better music /atmosphere.
All in all I enjoyed the place , and will go back for sure but for those looking for a more jovial /dancing environment, I’d suggest this be your pre-drinks venue for food and drinks before going...
