I've been loyal customer, but it seems it doesn't count. I order or visit at least once a week. Yesterday, 04th December 2022, I ordered 2 pasta dishes plus one lasagna at 12:01pm. The items arrived in a ripped open packet and food spilled all over. When I refused to accept it, the driver complained that he'd have to pay for it. I told him I'm not paying for food that arrives open and spilled in a total mess. I called the restaurant and was told a new order would be sent. It arrived at 13:12pm. All they did was change the package and put the lid back onto the spilled lasagna!!! The whole package of the supposed 'new' lasagna was a still mess. I called to complain. They sent another. It arrived at 14:20pm!! The driver didn't come in so I forgot to send the messed up lasagna back. I called in to explain and told them if they wanted to collect the messed up lasagna so the kitchen staff could see what 'not' to send customers, they could return and collect. Then the person I spoke to on the phone for the third time (not the person I had been speaking to or placed the order with originally) proceeded to very condescendingly tell me that he's going to make sure all my orders from now on will be properly measured and packaged to satisfy me, as if I was being too demanding to expect clean containers and closed packages without spilled food all over it. I've also noticed that when one calls to complain or ask an order to be corrected, suddenly the connection goes very bad and they can't hear you properly. I've always promoted Papa Pronto to family and friends and although I've had issues with burned pizza bases before or bad avocados which were promptly corrected, I have never had to deal with suck lack of consideration and condescension for complaining about something that was my right to complain about. I'm really disappointed because I really like this restaurant. It's going to be a while before I order or visit, if ever. Paying customers should not be mistreated for expecting cleanliness and should not be treated as if the restaurant is doing them a favour and should shut up and eat...
Read moreI received the most horrible and dissatisfying service from this restaurant. I’m so disappointed. I reserved a table a week in advance making reservations for a birthday with special notes with a manager by the name Marcel (who messed up everything). Upon arrival nothing was prepared instead we were told they overlooked the booking and was a miscommunication amongst managers (that time, I called in the morning and Marcel said everything was prepared and they’re just waiting for us). Okay fine, they then want to give me a mediocre table and I refused, the other manager tried setting up something else but it still didn’t reach the standard of a reserved birthday table. The weather was terrible, we then requested to be moved downstairs, the manager said there were no available tables. With that being said we stayed on the rooftop in the winds and colds with a child. The weather got bad, and they still kept us there. We literally watched everyone being taken downstairs while we were the only one left in the cold. Until the flower vases shattered into our food due to the wind. That’s when they wanted to assist. We requested to pay the bill and leave that’s when all 3 managers/stuff present offered a table downstairs. (All of a sudden there was an empty table for us) we refused. The waiter packed the food and I paid the bill but unfortunately the food was even left there due to how hasty things has to be done. The service was extremely disappointing, the preferential treatment was evident and disappointing. Everything was just rubbish!!!!!!!!!!!!’ I’ll never go to this restaurant again. We paid so much money...
Read moreI had a really disappointing experience at Papa Pronto Witkoppen. We ordered the chicken nachos, Yakuza sushi platter, and Mama Christo pizza. The nachos were a decent start, but things quickly went downhill.
The Yakuza platter was terrible — we began with the prawn tempura, which was so overcooked it was inedible and had an off taste. As we made our way through the platter, the flavours were just wrong and off-putting. When the pizza arrived, we were so put off that we barely ate and just asked for the bill and takeaway.
We told the waiter we didn’t want the Yakuza platter to go and explained why. The manager came over, and instead of offering any real help or empathy, he laughed. I told him it wasn’t a laughing matter — I visit all Papachino brands and expect a certain standard. He later tested the prawns with someone and confirmed they were overcooked, but still offered no apology.
The waiters were genuinely apologetic, but the manager clearly didn’t take my experience seriously. Removing the platter from the bill was not the issue — I would have gladly paid if someone had just acknowledged the problem with respect and care. Instead, it felt like I was being rushed out.
This kind of service does not reflect the high standard the Papachino brand has built over the years. I’ll be sticking to Papachino Clearwater from now on — consistently excellent food and service that never disappoints. You honestly wouldn’t say they’re run by the same owners.
On the picture you can see what we actually ate from that platter. Just from two peaces our...
