Let's have breakfast at what looks like a stunning venue after driving from Henley to here.... despite being shown towards that table area, @ 09h30, I get told sorry the table is reserved for Mr Grobbelaar at 09h00, there is a minute sign with 09 00 on it which i did not notice as unlike in the photo it was standing next to the black pot plant. Not even 09H00 which would indicate a time, nor does it state RESERVED plus I am not your mind reader so maybe add RESERVED plus the time to a decent sized sign in a colour that does not blend with the potplants pot. We can't serve you... Hmmmm OK, but it's nearly 09h30 so where is he. Eventually speak to manager, sorry we will have to phone him to see. FFS who is Grobbelaar that he is so important that despite numerous people standing waiting for tables, he must be called despite being nearly 30 minutes late for his reservation. Yes, you offered to get another table by asking us to go stand to wait for the next available one while this one must stand unused for 30 minutes after its booked time costing the establishment money, people at tables generate money. I wish people would respect punctuality. It's 09h43 and we are having coffee at Trek, and from that viewpoint it appears that table still awaits occupation.

Edit as can't respond to the reply. I came in from the Trek side as its the first time there. I asked a staff member for a seat for two. It was indicated to an open table that I sit there. Could have simply explained unfortunately the entrance is over there please enquire there. Never saw the tiny sign with 09h00 on it. Looked on a photo i took as sitting down to send to my wife so she could find me, it was already 09h14. At absolutely no stage did that person refer me to the door which is actually on the side of the building which I gladly would have done. My wife then joined me after looking at stuff in the Trek shop using the exact same route. We asked for service after a few waiters had walked by. My wife asked again and was asked if we Grobbelaar? They never knew we were not so all this time we were ignored due to basic poor service. Ok your restaurant, your rules as short sighted as they are which actually explains the que outside when we discovered the small entrance and numerous open tables. Basically you operate on actual customers there waiting can wait as customers yet to eventually arrive are more important. Lastly on closing your manager was not aware they were running late as he said he would have to call them to see where they are, if he was aware he would have said unfortunately they let us know they running late. Never the less its irrelevant as you will be glad to hear we won't waste our time to visit your restaurant being expected to wait for people who are not fairly punctual, being five or so minutes late is one thing, looked on a photo i took as sitting down now added to review, to send to my wife so she could find me, it was already 09h14. Read moreWent to visit friends last week and decided to try the restaurant last Friday with friends. I ordered a Ribeyed steak on the bone. Asked for Creamy mustard sauce and a side salad. A small amount of meat with an enormous bone arrived on the plate. I initially did not see that the meat was priced at 55/ 100gms until after the order and too late to change my mind. The waiter did not ask me what size steak I wanted either and it doesnt get served with any sides like most restaurants. ALL sides are priced separately. Amazed was I when a bill of R320 arrived for this small piece of steak (the waiter claimed it was 500 grams, impossible) and bone and a small side salad. Oh yes, and a bit of mustard sauce @ R25. I could almost still live with that, but I only had a few bites of the steak. It was soft, but had a strange taste. I thought it was because I wasn't really that hungry and took it home. Two hours later I took it out of the fridge as I felt hungry then and warmed it in the microwave. The smell was disgusting! My friends came into the kitchen to see what was happening whilst I was looking for a bag to throw it in and take it outside. Literally found close to 20 green flies trying to get to the meat that is still in the take away container and this happened in a flat on the second floor! I have never seen anything like that or smell anything like that. We had to wash the microwave out with lemon and Vinegar to free the smell. Opened every window to get the smell out. Really? You could not serve me a decent piece of meat at that price (R275)? Sorry. Overpriced and incompetent waiter. Won't take that chance again. But loved...
Read moreUnfortunately it seems I've come at a bad time as the manager informed me they are running in skeleton staff. I ordered a capachino along with a vegetarian burger and jalepeno poppers as starters, all ordered at the same time. My coffee took around 45min the 1st time to arrive and arrived with sour yellow cream on top. Took another 20min for a replacement to arrive and after an hour no starter has come to the table either. After about 80min (not even an exaggeration) the coffee and food arived at the same time. Due too poor waiter service my order was messed up and they brought me the wrong order (a vegan burger) and I send it back asked them to Cancell my order, they asked if they can't bring me anything else and I said no as not even the starter I order has arrived. The manager never made a turn and I had to go search for him only to be told they are sorry and running low on staff. Mean while he's standing on the floor with the FOH lady having a chat while waiters run up and down, not to mention the FOH lady keeps ticking her hands and phone down the front of her Ski pants. By this time I was hungry and just completely upset and not even the beautiful view could eaze my disappointment.
This place has great food from the looks and smell of it and an amazingly beutiful view, but lacks the proper management and staff to run this place to its full potential.
Im going to have to give you a 1 star review purely on staff and my terrible 1st...
