The Wijntuin at Wolwespruit Nature Reserve is a great spot and a hidden gem. I visited for brunch and was impressed with the quality and freshness of everything we tasted. The outdoor setting is beautiful and perfect for soaking up the sunlight and enjoying the surroundings. This makes it a great spot for all ages. I especially loved the shaded kids' play area, complete with a jungle gym and activities, ensuring the kids were thoroughly entertained throughout our visit. If you're interested in just visiting for a drink, they have a wide variety of drinks available, ranging from beer and wine to cocktails and more. Overall, I enjoyed the entire experience and can definitely recommend it, especially for families with young kids.

This place used to be awesome. And then.... They became popular and the service level crashed. Waiters are untrained. Take food orders for little children that are hungry and come back 45 Min later to tell you the kitchen is not willing to make a plan because your child has a gluten allergy and cannot eat all the stuff on the menu. Previously they were very accommodating and went out of their way to provide personalised service. Now they have given up it seems. Why provide good service if the people are coming? Well we and the large group of friends with us will think twice before coming back.

A cute oasis in Pretoria, live band, nice weekend food(aka pizza lol)Love the outdoorsy feel of the restaurants, the live bands, totally unique spot. Kids can play safely and there's cute outdoor seating (bean bags, etc) and three different restaurants, you can even bring your bike and cycle because the yard is quite big, very enjoyable space, very nice ambiance and for my first experience I give it 10/10 including the service at the restaurants. Definitely visiting again soon. We were four (2 adults and 2 teens) overall we spent R700 for food and drinks.

Wijntuin at Wolwespruit – Cold Food, Colder Experience

If I had to describe our experience at Wijnland in one word, it would be refrigerated — because that’s exactly how the food felt when it finally arrived. Nothing like paying restaurant prices for a meal that tastes like it took a scenic detour through a cold front.

The menu promised more than the kitchen could deliver — what we got was bland, unimpressive, and barely warm. If the chef put in as much effort into the food as the staff did into ignoring our table, we might have had a decent time.

Speaking of service: slow doesn’t quite capture it. I’ve seen glaciers move with more urgency. And just when we thought the experience couldn’t get worse, the bill arrived… with prices that didn’t match the menu. Surprise! Apparently, accuracy is optional.

It’s a lovely venue, sure — but looks only get you so far. Wijnland feels like it’s coasting on aesthetics while the food, service, and management take the day off. Hard pass from me. Try it if you're feeling patient, underwhelmed, and want to overpay for...

We had a great experience with a young male waiter and enjoyed our time, but unfortunately, we witnessed another female waiter, who had thick fake eyelashes, bullying him. Additionally, the Afrikaans female manager was also quite rude.

Response to comment: During our visit, we witnessed one of your waiters being rude to our server while they were attending to us, which created a very awkward atmosphere. We brought this to the attention of the manager, but unfortunately, their response was simply a shrug. Although we chose to move past the incident and still enjoyed our meal, it’s important to highlight that this lack of professionalism from your staff is concerning. The purpose of these reviews is to provide constructive feedback, and we hope this can be addressed to improve the overall experience for...

Whoever thought of creating such a wonderful spot is a genius. It feels like you're on holiday. A paradise setting for dogs and kids to run and play.

The food is delicious, a bit overpriced and the portions are tiny. MORE WAITERS NEEDED! And some sort of system where the waiters can see that customers need assistance. Rocket@88 has a simple, yet effective way of solving this problem.

The kids play area is wonderful. However, the rocky section is extremely dangerous. A few weeks ago I watched a child get seriously hurt trying to cross the rocks. And today, my nephew had to be rushed to hospital to get his fingernail removed, after an incident on the rocks. Something has to be done here.

I will still return regularly to Wijntuin, and recommend it to all my...
