SR Frango Dowerglen — Restaurant in Gauteng

We went here for the first time after visiting the centre on a few occasions. We waited about 25-30 minutes for our order to be prepared. There is seating available on the inside and outside. This location has 2 different outlets in 1 space which is the SF chicken & Fish & chips. Neat space and friendly cashier. Now onto the food which sadly was not up to scratch. The chicken was over cooked, the beef in the Trinchado was tough, the wrap was soaked in sauce and had an bitter taste like that of the rind of citrus peel permeating throughout the chicken strips! The fries & prego tasted okay. A little into the meal, I didn’t feel so good so this was not a pleasant...

I like this restaurant especial when it comes to fish and chips. But today it was such a disappointed. We asked for fried fish and calamari and also salt and vinegar . The order turned to be wrong only to discovery when home. Chips was spiced fish and calamari grilled. I am really disappointed and very sad cause this was my favorite restaurant. We called and nothing was done about this. Now I have to force myself to eat what I did not order. The chips I cant even eat cause...

I am a regular customer and SR Frango is definitely my go to store for Portuguese meals. I enjoy the traditional prego’s and the marinated baby chicken is without doubt the best and always consistently delicious. Value for money is unmatched and the service offered by the owners is fantastic. There is a cute outside seating area which I always frequent. Staff are very friendly and R’s gets you a long way ..
