Blue Whale Restaurant — Restaurant in George

We went to have lunch at the restaurant. Shockingly we were the only people there which should have been a red flag on 1 Jan when the other eateries had lines of people waiting. Although the staff member (there was only one over lunch in the restaurant??) was lovely, service was incredibly slow.

We asked twice for an ashtray before we got it. Our food took an hour to arrive (one burger and one cheese toastie) and once it arrived it was ice cold. Which is shocking, since again, there were no other patrons. The worst is, there was a large piece of cucumber wrapping (that green plastic) in the burger!! We then waited about 15 mins for our bill to arrive after asking.

Good day, it was our first time visit. Terrible experience by means of the following as order. 1 - Orange juice is mango juicce. 2 - Ask for milk for coffee. 3 - Request for omelette all inclusive for two, reveiced only with cuts of sausages and bacon. No cheese, no mushrooms, no tomatoes, no ham etc... 4 - Bread with no butter deliver to table 5 - Awaiting cutlery not placed in advance on table. 6 - One normal breakfast for my son was taken and prepared from buvet ( was Cold)

Not recommended to anyone, we where the only ones (3 of us) for breakfast not staying within the hotel. Sitting outside. Managment of the hotel bad. Excuses is not always an option. Step up your quality of service.

We were en route to Cape Town and stopped here for some dinner. It was quite busy with a big group, but once they left it was lovely and quiet. There was only one staff member, but he was lovely. I had the mushroom pasta and it was truly one of the best I’ve ever had. The food was so hot when it came to the table that we had to wait a minute or two for things to cool down.
