It was by chance that my wife and I ended up at Breakers Restaurant.... the restaurant that we intended having lunch we were told there was only cold sushi and nothing hot to order due to loadshedding and their backup generator was out of order. We were intending to Celebrate my wife's 70th birthday so this was a huge disappointment. We drove around and found ourselves at Breakers Restaurant. From being totally disappointed a few minutes ago to just an overwhelming welcome as we entered Breakers. The service was excellent. Although the restaurant did fill up during lunchtime, waitress Kayleigh gave us the most utmost attention and service. The seafood we ordered was of high standard and mouthwatering delicious. The creme brulee desert ( my speciality) was up there with the best I've ever enjoyed. My wife enjoyed her birthday dessert complementary of Breakers... A Comfortable and cosy spot, with friendly staff, good service. Magda and another sweet smiling young lady were most pleasant. But the food... Everything we ordered was on point! On Friday we tried an array of starters.. Fresh large plumpy queen prawns (at just R10 each!!!) perfectly cooked, creamy mussels, steak trinchada, cheesy garlic bread and squid heads on a bed of rice, all of it so tasty that we decided we had to try their Sunday all day 3 course lunch for R149. Breakers did not disappoint. Hubby had the creamy mussels starter (it was that good, he had to have it again), I opted for the prawn and avo Ritz. His mains 200gr rump steak with chunky veg, mine was arabiatta pasta minus bacon but with extra chillies... And a side order of 10 prawns. ย ย ย Read moreSo... We visited Breakers a few days ago and had amazing steaks. Today we went to try their seafood and I think we've just discovered the best seafood platter in the world. Big statement to make, I know, but it was just incredible. We had prawns, line fish, crayfish, calamari and mussels in a garlic sauce. Where to start... Those prawns: succulent, juicy, bursting with flavour. The mussels: awesome sauce that made for a brilliant dipping sauce for everything! The crayfish: just fantastic. What a meal! Highlight of our holiday so far!
This is truly a gem of a restaurant in this area! Chris and Makayla looked after us so well and even treated us to a Don Pedro! Thanks for that!
I'm already tempted to come back again this week... Maybe a steak-prawn combo?
7/4/2018... And then we went back for steak! O my goodness. How amazing. Breakers has the most delectable menu and their puddings are Fantastic. Try the malva pudding....
