Pavilion Restaurant — Restaurant in Hibiscus Coast Local Municipality

We've admittedly only gone there once for breakfast but browsed through their menu's & found their prices to be very reasonable considering the location & views over the main Uvongo Beach. We are locals living in the area & had family staying with us from Durban & arrived a little early for breakfast & weren't allowed in which we accepted as it was admittedly a few minutes before official opening time, but then when it went past opening time, even by a few minutes, & the staff were still busy setting up, we were still not permitted to enter & had to kill time downstairs on the beachfront. This of course doesn't leave a good impression as, if any business has business hours advertised, they should ideally try sticking to them. Apart from that, the views are obviously a huge bonus for anyone wanting to visit there & the staff member/waiter that attended to us on the day was both helpful & friendly - I wasn't totally left feeling the same about all the rest of the staff or management if they were there (I assumed they were) as most gave off the body language that they weren't entirely interested, but like I said, we were there early & their first customers on the day so perhaps that had a bit to do with it - if, & when we go again, we'll probably do so where they are in the normal routine of their day & see if our experience is a little better, but judging on our only one visit thus far, it gets a lucky 3...

Be careful: The manager doesn't wear a mask, speaking in your face, ultimately not adhering to Covid Regulation!

Furthermore, we waited 2 hours on our food order, before the manager came to tell us they haven't even started with our order!?

As per attached photo, the people opposite us was already waiting for their food when we arrived there, and ended up laying down due to having to wait so long.

I ended up getting up and leave, as well as the people having to lay down, and a family of 8 that also got fed up waiting.

Don't waste your time and money, unless you're willing to wait for 3 hours, and contract Covid at...

The view is great, food portions are not bad, pricing fair considering protion sizes. Only opened at 11am for Mothersday, couldnt call for a reservation as it was still closed. Got there at 12, whole restaurant inside had reserved signs on the tables. We were told they have no space, I should have called.... then was offered a table outside, the weather was a bit off as it was windy, but we still sat outside. Got my mom that far, couldn't dissapoint her on Mothersday. Restaurant did not even say Happy Mothersday, but atleast the customers wished each other.
