While intending to make a quick dash through the drive thru for mere chicken tenders and a small strawberry milkshake, little did I realise that this would become my worst experience at any McDonalds that I’ve ever been to! After making payment, at the first window of the drive thru, I expected to uplift my order at the next window only to be told by first “utterly inept” employee that the chicken tenders were still being prepared and that I needed to wait in the parking bay where my complete order would be given to me. I complied, until 10 minutes later when the second “dazed and confused” employee came to my car window where I was parked to present me with just the chicken tenders, no strawberry milkshake in sight. Not believing my account that I was still awaiting the milkshake (the actual complete order), the second “dazed and confused” employee went inside to summon the first “utterly inept” employee who had initially requested that I wait at the parking bay who now, upon arrival at my car wanted to “make sure” that the milkshake wasn’t handed over. Mind you, all of this is happening some 5 metres away from the store and within a space of minutes. At this point, I became utterly annoyed by the whole situation, having waited almost 25 minutes already for a relatively small order and returned the chicken tenders to the first “utterly inept” employee demanding a refund of my payment. This took another ten minutes after which Ntombi “the ultimate poster employee of the year for fast food arrogance”and presumably the “one in charge” arrived with the first “utterly inept” employee. This is when the “fast food arrogance” and complete absence of customer care came into full execution. Ntombi demanded that I provide my name and number before my money (in cash) was returned. Now I am fully cognisant as to why this may have been necessary, and although a small amount, it needed to be accounted for. However, this was not the explanation advanced by her royal arrogance, Ntombi who went on to state that the owner would be calling me hence the need for my details. Knowing this to be highly unlikely, I refused to hand over my details. Ntombi rebutted this by holding on to the refund and refusing to hand it to me. I then warned her that deprivation of one’s own property by another amounted to theft and that I would swiftly be going to the Police to lodge a charge against her. Ntombi then proceeded to throw the cash through my open drivers window and made a quick exit, fast food arrogance intact. If ever there was an establishment that needed to rethink the people it employs, it is McDonalds La Lucia. Clearly though, customer satisfaction is a very low, if not absolutely absent priority for this business because this destructive manager Ntombi has transgressed before without any consequential management of her loathsome behaviour!!! Don’t waste your time and money (even if it’s a nominal amount) at this place. The experience alone with the arrogant and incompetent staff will take years...
Read moreI recently visited the McDonald's in La Lucia and unfortunately, my experience was marred by a significant issue regarding the parking area. As a frequent customer of McDonald's, I expect a certain level of service and consideration, especially given its status as an international franchise known for its customer service and accessibility standards.
During my visit, I observed that the delivery bikes were parked in the wheelchair-friendly zone. This not only made it difficult but practically impossible for patrons who require special needs parking to utilize this designated space. Such disregard for accessibility is highly disappointing and does not align with the inclusive values that McDonald's is known for.
Accessibility is crucial for all customers, and blocking wheelchair-friendly zones undermines the efforts to provide an inclusive environment for everyone. I urge the management of the La Lucia branch to address this issue promptly and ensure that the designated parking spaces are kept clear for those who genuinely need them.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously and appropriate measures are implemented to prevent such occurrences in the future. McDonald's should continue to strive towards creating a welcoming and accessible environment for all...
Read moreFirst visit to this Mcd. It’s rare that a mcd will get any less than a 4 star from me as I really enjoy it, in and out of South Africa. My order was quite large as you can see by my 1st photo. With a bill around R1000. I live 5min away yet I had to eat everything cold. My order came out quite quick but I was told to wait for the apple pies for 3 min, which actually turned out to be 12 min. As a result all my food, especially the chips went cold. They should have ran the order based on how long the apple pies take. Disappointing, but I will try them again as Mcd cannot be resisted. Lets see if the rating will improve in future.
Note, I tried twice after with no improvement. Still cold soggy chips and also what seems like burger Pattie’s that were standing too long.
Also left a msg as directed from their reply, still no response. Why even ask me to msg customer services to an inbox that doesn’t...
