Mugg & Bean Cornubia Mall — Restaurant in KwaZulu-Natal

I am a frequent customer of Mugg n Bean Cornubia. The staff is friendly & they do their job, however, I feel the owners should take ownership & refurbish the shop to be the Mugg n Bean standard we are used to i.t.o service, image & food taste & presentation The experience in this shop is quite different from the other Mugg n Beans everytime I visit. It feels like a coffee shop in some area in the outskirts. The Wi fi is not even working most of the time I am there. The aircon is also not turned on warm days until one asks for it to be turned on.The floors are dirty & the leatherish benches/ chairs are worn out. Some tables have permanent ugly stains which cannot be cleaned. Nobody seems to care about customers and providing quality food and service we are used to st other Mugg n Beans. They just do bare minimum, I feel. Nothing "wowed" me about the food & the presentation thereof. The owner was also there at one time & he just did not care, he never made even an effort to greet & be friendly with his customers which other owners would normally do if u r in their store. In our recent visit in the morning this week, there was only one staff serving all the tables at once. This shows the owner does not care about providing best customer service. Went for a birthday brunch with my wife, her day. Ordered a toffee latte and and two double classic eggs Benedict. The eggs Benedict was way sub par with very little of the mayo and the eggs came well done when asked for medium to runny. None the less, we ate our food and I was sipping my latte. I got half way through my latte and felt something in my mouth, thinking it maybe a piece of the bun, I bit down on it and it burst in my mouth. I felt with my tongue and spat it on my plate, it was a COCKROACH that I just popped in my mouth. I call the waitress who ten took the plate to show her manager. Manager returns and says sorry, I will not charge you for the latte. I told her I did not come for a free meal, this is unacceptable especially being a restaurant. She just said "I'm sorry". There was zero empathy. I left my wife there and rushed out to find a toilet because I vomited all my food and half cup of coffee. This is the worst, and will not return. I will bot go there or recommend anyone eating there. What about the other people eating their food, maybe COCKROACH is part of the menu? I should have taken a photo but was trying to hold down my vomit and was not...

Today, I had the most disappointing meal from Mugg and Bean Cornubia.. Hubby ordered the R229 platter, It had 1 chop,1 sausage 2 chicken skewers and a tablespoon of coleslaw..plus 2 slices of cheese and tomatoe sandwich..i took a slice of the sandwich asked the waiter to add chili,fried onion and mushroom.. I also had a chai latte.. no foam,must 👎 strong and hot .. What i received was a very milky chai latte( the waiter said that was the strongest he was allowed to make), plus the mug smelt different The platter picture to the actual sizes was so deceiving .. The sandwich was on a different plate..(we requested) The plate had a strong detergent smell The extras totaled up to R60 over and above the rest ..pic to follow The onion was not fried ,the mushroom was saltless, etc

My unhappy experience was not worth the R400 our bill came to for 1 meal...
