Rude and Lecturing Floor Manager
I went to Boulder Creek Spur this morning however the outing was over shadowed by a rude floor manager. (Senior White Male) I was taking 2 cups of coffee to my table when the waiter and manager stood in front of me at the Coffee station and computer Station. I then had to stop causing a minimal amount of coffee to spill.
I was than informed that he does not want to call the person to mop up, also thereās saucers for use and handed me a plastic tray which I respectfully used and apologised although itās not my fault. The manager and waiter were standing in the front of the computer capturing orders blocking my way to the table. (The amount of coffee that spilt could have been absorbed by a small serviette)
After pondering about the situation, I came to the conclusion that this Manager is rude and arrogant. Are other customers who cause a slight spill also treated like this?
Hereās a solution to your problem. Move your capturing computer for orders out of the way for the coffee station. Donāt stand in the way with your waiter and capture orders in the center of a high traffic area. Obviously people are queuing for coffee and two Spur employees are also trying to capture something on the computer at the same time. (Poor layout and potential burn hazard) By relocating your Computer this will not interfere with patrons. In this way patrons will not be obstructed and will be able to navigate their way through already congested thoroughfares and isles. Yes, we know itās all about the money and floor space etc - maximum profits, how many tables you can squeeze without causing catastrophic spillages and problems.
I remember how an elderly lady spilt her entire coffee at Checkers Brookside mall and burnt herself but the cashier helped and comforted her and even gave her a coffee free of charge.
I think Spur needs to send some of their Managers on a Diversity course, anger management course as I can see this franchise will sink one day due to poor customer treatment.
However remember we are paying customers, we are not eating for free or are charity cases, WE keep your salaries moving. Spur managers need to treat their customers with a bit more respect and dignity. Have you not spilt or dropped anything in your lifeā¦think upon that, many times I witness in your own restaurant, your waiters and chefs break tumblers and plates, cause blunders and get orders wrong, not to mention appalling Service which gives warrant for another poor review.
When thereās a problem, fix it without complaining and lecturing to people and looking at people as lowly.
Iāve been a supporter of Boulder Creek spur since Liberty Mall opened but I would rather take my Business elsewhere than put up with people who are put in positions that they donāt have a cooking clue how to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited your restaurant on the 24th of May for my sons birthday party. The service was very good however the following transpired that evening .
When I left the restaurant I discovered that an envelope which was given to my son which had a birthday card and R 500 cash was not with us so I decided to call Boulder Creek Spur to ask them to keep the envelope.
The manager asked me to call back in 5 minutes and when I did he advised me that there was a birthday card in the envelope however the cash amount of R500 was not there.
A few days later I went back to the restaurant to view the CCTV footage . On the footage the waiter cleaned up the area that I dined in and then took the envelope to the kitchen area where 1 of the managers was handed with the envelope. 3 to 4 staff members circled around the manager for a few seconds and then he handed the envelope back to the waiter who then left the envelope with 1 of the ladies at the till.
To date I have not received an apology or any feed back with regard to what happend with the money . This was a childs birthday gift and adults at this restaurant did not even feel remorseful for stealing .
I was told by your employee who handles the CCTV footage that I will be contacted. It has been over 3 months and not even a call or an apology from anyone at Boulder Creek Spur .
Very disappointing from Boulder Creek Spur . The amount of R500 is not the main issue here . Your staff who I tipped very decently smiled throughout the evening and even sang a birthday song. They also received a substantial amount of birthday cake ( which they asked for) and I had no problem in giving them this.
I was also told by the manger in charge of the CCTV footage that Boulder Creek Spur is a franchise and that by directing the complaint to Spur Head office will be of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy last experience today was very disappointing. Both my waiter and another official who I think is a supervisor gave me grief about what I ordered which was a first for me.I was even told that there's no problem if I never use this Spur.
Im not one to complain and have been a huge fan of Spur for the longest time, changing between their various branches.
I ordered what I normally order for me and my daughter which is a starter of 12 buffalo wings and 2 kiddies ribs as I like to just have a taste when it comes to the ribs hence the kiddies smaller portion and like neither the onion rings or hot veggies that come with the adult meals.
Prior to today i have had no problem with my usual order but today at this branch I was told I could not order from the kiddies menu although there is no policy or signage that states this because obviously its ridiculous since whatever one orders from the menu is their problem as they will be paying for it with their own money.
Were I ordering from Mr D would I have been stopped from ordering 2 kiddies meals?would I have been asked if it's for a kid or an adult?Would they have come to my house first to verify if there really was a kid being ordered for?If I were ordering both meals for my child at the restaurant during my sit in because maybe she does not get full on just one would it have been an issue because I was with just one child and she would not have been able to have more if she wanted.I also wonder if ever I want to get a child an adult's meal because they have a larger appetite would that be an issue too?!
Even McDonald's doesn't ask who we are buying happy meals for when we buy them because at the end of the day it's our money that will be paying for it.
Very disappointing...
