RocoMamas Liberty Midlands Mall — Restaurant in Msunduzi Local Municipality

I am giving Rocco Mamas a 3 star because both times I have gone to eat something has gone wrong. Before I say what went wrong I would like to say that the Manager on duty was very apologetic & tried to make up for the mistake. He was very professional & courteous. The first time we sat down & ate. We ordered 2 burgers & a cheesy fries to share. When the fries arrived they were chili cheesy fries. No problem, I wasn't going to complain as I am partial to having chili every now & then. So we kept quiet & didn't say anything. Second time we decided to do take away. I ordered 4 burgers & 2 cheesy fries. They were very busy which lead to an extra 10 minute wait, no problem it was a Friday evening so thats normal being busy. Upon getting home & unpacking I realised that I was 1 burgers short & they did not invoice the 2nd cheesy fries. I had to get back in my car & drive all the way back to fetch my burger. Like I said at the beginning the Manager was there to assist me straight away & apologised for the mistake & went to get me another burger. As I said it was busy which meant I had another 20 wait. The manager threw in the chips & waffle to make up for the mistake but I had spent 1 hour of my Friday driving to & from the mall twice & sit waiting in total 40 minutes for the food. If it had been 1 mistake I wouldn't have bothered to write a review but since both times I have been there within 3 months and there were mistakes I felt I needed to write my review. The service at every rocomamas has been nothing short of amazing and this branch is no different.

The waiters are wonderful, super friendly and patient and make you feel very comfortable.

We were promptly seated and given menus, my milkshake was done in less than seven minutes. It was divine! Creamy and cold with chocolate syrup, Belgian chocolate bits inside and topped off with a generous puff of fresh cream which was unsweetened and finished off with a sprinkle of Belgian chocolate. Truly a milkshake to be reckoned with. I loved it. Not too sweet, the perfect balance.

We then placed our main food orders and I had the classic smash cheeseburger and added an extra topping of baconnaise which I could not wait to taste because I love bacon!

The food arrived a while later and it was piping hot, my burger was a sight to behold. Melted cheese, a deliciously succulent beef smash patty, red onions, crisp pickles and a generous lather or rocomayo and baconnaise. Truly heavenly.

I had to dig in with my hands and I used the paper underneath to grab the burger. The first bite sent me straight to heaven and I couldn't stop eating, I didn't even stop to breath, all the flavors just mixed so well.

It was a very pleasant experience.

The food options at RocoMamas are absolutely delicious! The wings are a definite must-have, and the gourmet milkshakes are amazing. The burgers are mouthwatering, super filling, and the fact that you can create your own burger makes the experience even better. Their shoestring fries are perfectly done and so worth it, while the ribs are equally impressive. They often have great deals, including a 3-course meal for just R149 — totally worth it!

The setting is comfortable and has that cool old-school rockstar vibe, which makes it such a fun place to dine.

I have to commend the manager — he is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Every time I’ve visited, he personally checked in to make sure we were enjoying our meal, not just out of duty, but with genuine care. On several occasions, he went out of his way to make sure special moments were acknowledged, which made our dining experience truly memorable. Hats off to him! The rest of the staff are just as attentive, always friendly, checking in regularly, and ensuring that orders are correct.

The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining, along with delivery options through Mr D and Uber Eats. Takeaways and doggie bags are also available.
