Went to Cafe Roux with some good friends on Friday evening to watch the Reggae Group "Rivertones" perform. We had pre booked tickets and reserved a table. We had a table positioned right up close and personal to the stage which was fabulous. Our waitress brought menus to the table and took our drinks order. We then each perused the menu with a good selection of foods from pizza, pasta, burgers, meats, soups and salads and also vegetarian options. Each of us then ordered various dishes. I ordered the Pesto Pasta with tagliatelli and chicken added. My friends ordered steak and chips, Pasta Al Funghi, Home Made Lasagne, Go Big or Go Home Burgers. Drinks arrived and we ordered two bottles of Red wine for the table. The meals arrived and were well presented and decent portions. My Pesto pasta was absolutely delicious. I certainly didn't hear any complaints from my friends in their choice of meals. All fine fare !! After we had finished our meals the restaurant was full and abuzz and on came The Rivertones. What a fantastic evening of Reggae music, very well played and amazing singing and guitar by lead vocalist Roland Geoffrey Nair. Fabulous atmosphere and everyone got involved making it a fun evening. Cafe Roux is a great venue, with loads of excellent entertainment during the week and weekends. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner sittings inside and outside when the weather is more welcoming. Warm welcoming atmosphere, great staff , fabulous food and drinks. I can highly recommend this venue 10/10 and will most certainly be back for more fabulous food and...
Read moreThis is a sad review to do as most of our food was amazing. We eat here maybe once a week and today my sons pizza was inedible with dried out chicken that made you joke. Now mistakes happen and as I said most of our food was amazing but when you bring it to the attention of Management and they just dismissed me and still made me pay for the food we had to leave and dispose of. Thats when I feel something has to be done. Management did not even apologize, our poor waiter had to come and explain how he was told its the vegan cheese and well thats the way it is and we must just pay. The waiter was mortified and could not hide his embarrassed reaction.
From my side it was a cheap kids pizza no big deal I paid for it. However, for a resturant to treat its regular patrons in this way means they must now think they are untouchable and can provide poor food and service and people will keep coming back. Well I hope this is a warning to them that reviews count and your service today was horrible. Anyone thinking of going if you have bad food dont worry about complaining they will just dismiss you and charge you for it. I would think twice about supporting a place like this.
Sadly I just bought six tickets to their new years party so that is a waste now. As I dont really want to support...
Read more"I had the absolute pleasure of being served by Taku during my recent visit to Cafe Roux, and I must say, he truly went above and beyond! Taku's exceptional service, warm demeanor, and attention to detail made our dining experience truly unforgettable.
From the moment we walked in, Taku greeted us with a bright smile and a welcoming attitude. He took the time to explain the menu, made excellent recommendations, and ensured that our glasses were always full.
But what truly impressed me was Taku's genuine passion for providing outstanding service. He was attentive, yet unobtrusive, and seemed to anticipate our every need. His knowledge of the menu and wine list was impressive, and his enthusiasm was contagious!
The food at Roux Cafe was, of course, delicious, but Taku's exceptional service took our experience to the next level. If you're looking for a truly exceptional dining experience, look no further than Roux Cafe, and be sure to ask for Taku!
Thank you, Taku, for an unforgettable lunch! We can't...
