Ou Meul Stanford — Restaurant in Overstrand Local Municipality

My family and I had an absolutely delightful experience at Ou Meul Stanford! This lovely restaurant truly stands out with its fantastic enclosed play area, which kept our kids entertained for hours. They were thrilled to play on the tractor, and it was such a joy to watch them have so much fun. What made our visit even more special was that the restaurant welcomed our dogs into the play area. There was even a water bowl provided for them, which was a thoughtful touch. It’s not often you find a place that is so accommodating to both children and pets, and it made our outing so much more enjoyable. The food was exceptional, with delicious pies that were absolutely yummy and perfectly complemented by their great coffee. The warm and friendly atmosphere, combined with the outstanding service, made our visit to Ou Meul Stanford truly memorable. Swak swak diens !!! Very very bad service !!!! Nooit weer nie !!! We stopped there , my sick mom in the car in sun. Went inside , got greeted by the door , we know the products are good. But wow bad service , completely ignored , many staff around but nobody interested to assist. Even the baker came out twice with trays of pies , he saw us , looked straight at us. No desire to assist !!! There was only one other client in front of us waiting also for service. Many staff around , zero service , u just dont exist for them. NO THEY WONT TREAT U GOOD HERE. So we left without being able to buy anything , left and got greeted by the same lady that also saw us waiting for service the whole time. We drove to Napier farm stall , wow what a difference. No they say humble beginnings , but they have no respect for client , not the staff , not the baker , clearly not the management. No dont stop here. Stanford deserves much better !!! Ons ry...

I went back again today, 20th Dec 22. It was full of tourists but little else had changed. My friend who I cycled there with is a frequent visitor and we discussed the poor service. This was after I ordered our two cups of coffee to go. It was R70 and I presented a R200 note. The cashier looked at me, looked at the note, rolled her eyes before tutting and taking it.

I looked around, lots of staff but after checking them all out I saw not one smile, except the barista.

The coffee was excellent and the food is always good but it's not enough to make me feel good about the experience.
