Plastic inside two of our burgers and the owner tries to blame me for them.
Edit: You can see by the owner reply the experience you can expect, the owner said she would comp the entire meal and now clearly lying in their reply. This place is horrible. Also added the owner told us that there were bottle brush bristles in their food before.
Payment will be made via EFT as the comp was not honored.
As you can see on the photo, these came out of our burgers, we only noticed part way through the meal that there was plastic when my friend picked it out of his mouth.
I'm a painter that tries to promote restaurants and places in Cape Town, I've painted over 500 paintings with no incident. The owner came to our table, no apologies or concern and said "I heard you were painting, can I see your brushes?", fully putting the blame on me (as she will argue in the reply she didn't). My brushes are brown and short and to blame the patron for food not being checked is reprehensible.
The food was sub-par and the milkshakes were barely there, pretty poor place to go, loads of better options in the surrounds.
If you stop off here, do so at your own risk. The owner (not the manager) trying to blame me, no apology and her general attitude I think this place would do much better if it was run by someone else who has an understanding of what customer service is...
Read moreLast week Saturday, we decided to take drive to the Polkadraai strawberry farm but when we got there, it was extremely full. We then decided to drive to Root 44 and when we got there, it was closed. Being disappointed twice, we then decided to drive to Strand but as we were driving, we spotted a restaurant on our right which seemed quiet and peaceful. We immediately made a u-turn and came to the entrance of the hidden gem. As we drove in, we were welcomed to a beautiful scenic restaurant spot called Sweetwell. We then ended up enjoying a delicious lunch with the venue all to ourselves with the exception of one or two guests. The waiter was excellent and the food was just amazing. This is definitely a spot to visit, if you want to relax and enjoy a delicious meal with family or friends. It also has a vintage feel to it, with the venue props and furniture inside as well as outside. We will definitely be back soon!
Please be so kind to like this review, if you found it...
Read moreSuch a Gem of a spot.... Ive driven past it for years, not knowing how beautiful the space is... I sat outside as the weather was lovely. The sun definitely warms the garden surrounds which makes ur experience of the place even more enjoyable. I ordered a cup of Earl Grey and when it came i was blown away because it was in a old tea set... Tea pot and cup/saucer... There and then i rated this a new space mentally... They have a selection of old fancy cups/ teapots... Super. Cool for a Lover of grandma goodies My breakfast was a salmon omelette with mushrooms, my bread was dark brown sourdough that had a sweet taste to it, which was something different. I spent 2 hours there, it was so peaceful and fresh after all our "new world" ways.
Thank you Staff of Sweetwell, will. Definitely be...
