Had the worst possible experience while dining in at this restaurant!! After ordering our meals & going through our starters we noticed a RAT running around the dining area, under the tables behind us & then right up alongside our booth!!! We immediately alerted the waitress, who was very apologetic, however, the manager didn't seem very phased at all by the presence of a rodent in his restaurant!!!! He laughed while saying he was sorry that we saw the rat!!! Upon questioning the adherence to health codes & pest control, he stated that there is pest control in the kitchen!! He went on to explain that the rat comes from outside & therefore cannot be avoided!!! I'm quite sure that even outdoor restaurants & dining areas require strict controls for pests & rodents!! The attitude of the manager was shockingly nonchalant!! Seemed like it was a normal occurrence to have a rat in the dining area!!! Certainly no care for hygiene or disease control. There were several cupboards doors left open near the dining booths, not to mention an open kitchen, all of which left sufficient opportunity for the rodent/s to run free or easily hide!!! No attempt was made to find or get rid of the rat or , at the least, inform other patrons who were being seated in the exact same booth we were in!! The manager then force a cheap bag of sweets onto my son, despite our clear dissatisfaction, I an attempt to "fix" the situation!! This, after we paid the bill in full for food we did not eat!! A really poor experience all-round!!...
Read moreI ordered a Green Thai curry vegetable which was nice and fresh, however it was rather sweet, and without the efforts of a green curry I am accustomed to. It was more like a hottish coconut broth. The service was very friendly but a bit on the slow side. I had to walk over to call the waitress after about 8-10 minutes of waiting after delivery of the menu. However, after that she was more attentive. Another couple was also waiting for service. They can defintely work on that aspect. From what I could see on other customers' plates, the sushi looked very good, and it seemed like most people came here for sushi as a rule. They have a lovely outside area, but I had to wonder how patrons' children must feel, as the Spur play area is in full view without any access or a play area of Trologos' own. How would one explain that to children? The interior is very clean and neat, but is in need of some character and ambience. The two televisions were also switched off, so even intended entertainment was lacking. It is, however, quite lovely with the vlei in the back and some cheeky gulls were hanging about for a snack. So it's perfect for a truly...
Read moreIts really just a bar. An alcoholic cocktail bar. People enjoyed cocktails with some sushi snacks The sushi is very small. They disintegrate when you try pick them up. Not well made The Asian food is quite salty. Huge portions but salty. Filling though. Asian food would be best to order here (try crispy beef). We sat in a non-smoking area with kids and yet people were smoking. Thats a big no-no. The outside section is half filled up with Spur's playground. The kids from this restaurant cant play there as it's not shared. But its extremely noisy with the kids from Spur. As such, sitting outside is not best. The furniture is outdated. Feels like a real old pub when you walk in other than a sushi conveyor in the middle. Decor could be upgraded. The crockery reminds me more of farmland crockery. Not really authentic asian. The tea can in a steel teapot from my primary school days. Could be good for a bit of a decor upgrade. Ah tea if you order should be served first and not after the meal like the way coffee is served. It helps with consuming...
