Mugg & Bean — Restaurant in Vincent, East London

Friends I have to share an unfortunate experience. This Mugg and Bean is currently in the business of scamming people. It's a very simple premise, waiters preying on people. In this instance I ordered the simple chicken strips, but to my surprise a big chicken strip meal came (also notably missing the ginger, that it promises). The difference between these meals is about R50, the meal I received being obviously more. And when I question the waiter about this mistake, she seems completely shocked. Friends I pointed to the meal on the menu. I already mentally prepared the budget I would be spending. But I realised they do this so you would be forced into spending more. You are quickly fed a sob story about the kitchen not being able to remake the meal you actually ordered and the additional money needing to come out of their pocket. (For their "mistake" it seems fair). Even the way she quickly ran away from the table after putting down the food was it telltale that she was avoiding it and that she knew what she wanted to do. Trick customers. No accountability, no apology offered. This trick ended up being completely unnecessary because our table was also interested in ordering desert. Even when I asked the way to the question of which cakes they have today she wanted me to get up and go look myself. A simple question she couldn't answer. I guess when your mind is occupied with scamming people you forget about service.

Gosh it's a shame, but I guess we all need sidehustles in this economy. Be wise, be weary and don't be afraid to speak up. Every one and their mama is trying to squeeze out our cents.

In these cases things are too far gone, would not be any use complaining. These people do not care about service. No idea whose in on it or not. Best to just warm my fellow...

I made an order for 3 cakes at R720 each for a birthday. I thought I would never go wrong with a mug an bean cake given the fact that it's an established franchise. Boy was I wrong. To say I was disappointed is an under statement. All cakes were under done and dense as if it's those mud cakes we use to make as kids.

I am still in shock after witnessing unfair behaviour by the owner to a lady from a delivery company. The manner iñ which this white fella treated the was as though she was a ' mosquito '! I felt so bad for this poor lady and immediately lost my appetite. I would never spend my money ever in this establishment in the future.
