Hungry Lion Cape Gate — Restaurant in Western Cape

Stood in the queue for 5min only to arrive at the front counter to be ignored by staff, staff who were helping other customers not standing in line. I finally got to order at 16:27 after staff were laughing at me when I asked to speak to a manger to make them aware of the total disregard of customers. I waited for my order at about 16:40 I asked a staff member if my order was complete, she refused to assist me and asked another staff member to assist me, they also turned away and walked on helping other customers. At 16:50 I walked up to the counter and asked a third staff member to if my order was complete, she grabbed my order from the other five orders standing at the counter since 16:38. I wasn’t impressed with the service I was given at the restaurant, wouldn’t recommend this restaurant if you are wanting to grab a quick bite to eat...

I'm not 1 to complain, but certain circumstances gives you no option but to voice your disappointment. I ordered a simple 3 piece chicken & chips in spicy flavour. I specifically asked how long the waiting time would be to determine if I should buy or not, and I was assured that the chicken will be ready in 1 minute( that was the lady's exact words). I then continued to place my order and 20 minutes later I was told that the spicy chicken was finished and that I should now wait another 18 minutes added to the 20 minutes that I already spent waiting before I could get my order. I specifically asked how long it would take to avoid that waste of time. I ended up being very furious, very disappointed to say the least and I ended up requesting a refund and actually left without taking the meal.

We believe in giving a second chance but tonight was next level. Got to Hungry Lion CG it was quite to start with stood at the pay point for 10minutes no cashier. The line started building up behind us. My husband raised his voice a little to get their attention. After order was done we waited 30 min for our food. Everyone who came after us left before us. Eventually our food was to say ready but the guys on the pass touched the food with bare hands no cloves. Got home chicken was over cooked and extremely oily as if it was old chicken. The Zumbas was under cooked. The only thing that was nice and fresh was the mini loafs. Your Manager was also no where to be seen almost like he/she had no control over the branch. It is sad to see...
