Well, well, well, where do I even begin with my disastrous experience at Kauai? I'll spare you the suspense and cut straight to the chase – this place should be called "Kau-why?" because it left me questioning my sanity for ever stepping foot in there.
They had a special treat in store for me. After enduring the agony of waiting for what seemed like an eternity, my meal finally arrived. However, it was fashionably late to the party, as if it wanted to make a grand entrance after my partner had already finished their meal. The timing was impeccable – if only they had put as much effort into ensuring my food was served on time as they did in making me wait.
To add insult to injury, the food itself was a disappointment. The burnt sourdough toast was merely the tip of the iceberg. The rest of the dish was a haphazard combination of tasteless ingredients that seemed to have been thrown together without any consideration for flavour or presentation. It was as if they were playing a cruel game of culinary roulette, and I was the unfortunate victim.
The surprises didn't end there. Oh no, their oh-so-impressive motto and business model of "finding fresh ways to bring people food that's simple, seasonal, and sourced for sustainability." If by "fresh" they mean serving up ingredients that have clearly seen better days, then they've nailed it! I had the pleasure of trying their Build Your Own Omelette, which featured spoiled mushrooms and eggs that were probably laid during the Mesozoic era. Bravo, Kauai, for your commitment to making people sick!
But fear not, dear reader, because despite their blatant disregard for basic hygiene and serving edible food, Kauai does excel in one area – the art of deception. From their falsely advertised fresh ingredients to their menu that promises health but delivers heaving stomachs, they have mastered the art of pulling the wool over customers' eyes.
To conclude, if you have a penchant for self-inflicted misery, Kauai is the place for you. Their commitment to serving spoiled ingredients and causing severe food poisoning is truly unparalleled. So, grab your barf bags and dive into their toxic menu....
Read moreReagan as a manager you have a lot to learn! In fact if you worked for me & addressed me with the attitude you spoke to me with today I would have fired you on the spot! Yes your attitude is absolutely disgusting!
Coffee came out cold. Returned them, they were reheated and the milk burned. I approached the barista and asked if he had a thermometer as I actually wanted to check the temp of the now burned milk and received attitude in rerun. Told him he had now burnt the coffee!
The fact that you charge R35 for a coffee and cannot even ensure that it comes out at the correct temperature is beyond me.
Last time I support your franchise!
Update: after filling out the feedback & are told an area manager will contact to discuss two weeks on still no contact from anyone which doesn’t surprise me! Probably too concerned with the feedback that I would give regarding the store...
Read moreGreat food all my unique preferences adhered to but staff looks annoyed when I gave them a voucher code won by Vodacom and almost refused to take my voucher code. Why sign deals with Vodacom when customers are treated badly by Kauai staff members for claiming their prizes?! This is unacceptable, Kauai Cape Gate! As one of Vodacom's loyal customers, I will bring this under Vodacom's attention.
Staff members are making so much noise as well. They literally shout at each other and would "throw" / drop things constantly. I struggled to even hear myself think while all I wanted to do was to relax, eat while doing a little bit of admin. Don't visit this branch if you want peace, relaxing environment and also don't visit if you don't want to be racially profiled. Staff at this branch treat you inferior if you are...
