I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Belgium Waffle House and Coffee Shop for the very first time, and it was also my first date! Let me tell you, this place absolutely knocked it out of the park. From the moment we stepped inside, the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming, instantly putting us both at ease. It felt cozy and inviting, the perfect setting for getting to know someone new. The waiting staff were truly exceptional. They were professional, attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely seemed to care about ensuring we had a pleasant experience. Our server was friendly and helpful, offering recommendations and making sure our coffees were always topped up. Now, let's talk about the menu! The options for both waffles and coffees were incredibly impressive. There was something to tempt every palate, from classic Belgian waffles to more creative and decadent choices. My date and I both opted for different waffles, and we were both blown away by how delicious they were. The ingredients were fresh, the waffles were perfectly cooked – crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside – and the toppings were divine. My coffee was also excellent, rich and flavourful. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better first date experience. Terrible customer service! They will tell you what you can and cannot have for something you as the customer is paying for! I ordered a bar one milkshake which I did not even finish due to it being so watery. I then ordered a bar one waffle as well and I was told that I cannot have a bar one milkshake and a bar one waffle. I told them that I came here for the bar one waffle. They insisted that I order a different waffle. Then I asked if I can change my milkshake to a strawberry milkshake then. They said no I cannot have a strawberry milkshake because they probably already making the bar one milkshake. My partner then insisted that they just give me the bar one waffle like I asked for. But wait the story does not end there! My partner ordered a hot chocolate as well. After we got our drinks, my partner asked for two sugars please. They asked if he was sure. My partner asked again, two sugars please. They said, first taste it. My partner asked again, two sugars please. They said, but it is sweet. My partner asked again, two sugars please. Imagine!!! You cannot get two sugars because their hot chocolate tasted awfully bitter just like their customer service! Let's not even speak about their waffles. I'd recommend Spur's waffles...

Whenever I visit the Strand, Belgium Waffle House is an almost daily ritual for me. Their original light Belgian waffle, served with syrup and cream, is unmatched, and paired with one of their delicious coffees, it’s simply perfection.

The restaurant has also become somewhat of a Yellow Pages for me—thanks to Eli’s incredible knowledge and extensive network in the area. Whether it’s a local tip or a recommendation, Eli always has the answer.

The staff here are consistently friendly, courteous, and welcoming; their warmth never changes, which adds to the charm of this place. I believe in supporting local, and this is by far one of my favorite spots.
