Sulyamyeok Seomyeon — Restaurant in Busan

I discovered this Korean BBQ restaurant through a travel guide, which mentioned that its main branch is located in Gyeongnam's Yeongsan, known as the most popular BBQ spot in the area. In 2023, they opened their second location in the Seomyeon area of Busan. Being a restaurant that specializes in aged meats, I had no worries about the quality of the meat.

When I arrived, I saw that there was a queue, so I joined in. Due to the language barrier and not having a Korean phone number, I couldn’t make a reservation in advance. When it was my turn, I found out that reservations were required to dine in. I thought I wouldn't be able to eat there, but the staff were incredibly friendly and made an exception for us, allowing us to enter. The hospitality in Busan really impressed me; the locals are genuinely welcoming and prioritize customer satisfaction.

As for the food, this is easily one of the best Korean BBQ experiences I’ve had. They start by greasing the grill with some pork fat, which adds a lovely flavor. When it’s ready, you can grill the pork and enjoy it with perilla leaves—it's absolutely delicious! They also have a professional warming rack to keep the grilled meat hot, so you can chat and enjoy your meal without worrying about it getting cold.

The sauces offered include yellow mustard, fresh wasabi, grilled fish sauce, salt, and a special soy sauce, along with brown rice wraps and various side dishes like white kimchi and pumpkin salad. We also ordered the raw beef mixed noodles, which were fantastic.

The environment of the restaurant is very stylish and modern, not at all old-fashioned. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and high-quality Korean...

No word of a lie this is the best Korean barbecue place I’ve ever eaten at. I would travel from Seoul here just to eat if I’m ever in Korea again. Every sense in my body was stimulated. This is just THE BEST. What a great place solo/with a date/or with friends. Wish I went here on first day of My Trip as I would have eaten here every night. Superb Beef. Superb Pork.
