Says accepts Amex global lounge access (tried Amex Plat), but it does not. In fact, it only accepts Priority Pass in relation to the Amex Plat card. The SIM cards for foreigners in this country purchased at the airport does not allow you to make calls, so if you don't have your complementary priority pass account activated (I didn't), you will br SOL, unless you can somehow borrow a phone somewhere and make a customer support call. Long story short, if you're used to accessing lounges with your Amex card, it doesn't work here...
I also have MasterCard Lounge Key, and this was also not accepted for some reason, when it literally says on the sign outside the lounge. I double checked my remaining # of visits, and there was plenty, and my membership is good until 2024, yet it was not accepted. Someone else in my group tried their Loungr Key also, and it did not work. For the Amex, I can kind-of understand the systemic issue why it didn't work, but I have no idea why the Loungr Key didn't work. The kiosk employee was trying to scan the card and it was not working, and they did not try to manually enter the card #, so it might be a dumb barcode scanner issue.
I'll also add that the employees at the front desk were pretty rude about it when I was trying to access the lounge with my Amex and got turned down, and then trying...
Read moreWe had an extremely disappointing visit to the Matina Lounge at Incheon Airport. Despite having valid Priority Pass access and being entitled to a guest through my company, the lounge staff refused to honour our access and were rude and dismissive when we asked for clarification. Instead of helping, they pressured us to pay full price for our 6-year-old child, even though she barely ate or used any lounge services.
The lounge itself was underwhelming. The hot food appeared to be recycled from a previous day—dry, lukewarm, and lacking freshness. The watermelon was dull and tasteless, clearly not freshly prepared. For a premium lounge, the food quality was far below acceptable standards.
We expected the Matina Lounge to offer a peaceful and welcoming environment before our flight. Instead, we were treated poorly, made to feel like a burden, and offered subpar service and food. This is not what Priority Pass members or families deserve.
I've reported this experience to Priority Pass and American Express and sincerely hope they review their partnership with this location. Until major improvements are made, I would not recommend this lounge to any...
Read moreI had high hopes for this lounge, but it turned out to be one of the worst airport lounge experiences I’ve ever had. The queue at the entrance was incredibly long — around 40 people were waiting, and the line moved painfully slow, roughly 2 people every 15 minutes. I waited nearly an hour just to get inside. That’s unacceptable for a facility that’s supposed to offer convenience and comfort.
Once inside, things didn’t get any better. The food selection was very limited, and what was available was bland and unappetizing. It felt like no real effort was made to provide quality meals or snacks. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful — not once did I see anyone offer assistance or even greet guests with a smile. The place was also overcrowded and noisy, with no peaceful corner to relax in.
Frankly, this lounge failed on every front: long waits, poor service, bad food, and no sense of hospitality. I would not recommend Matina Lounge T1 West to anyone looking for a premium airport experience. You’re better off waiting in the general...
