Cafe The Other Side — Restaurant in Jeju

One of few places in Jeju that specialise in Chemex filter coffee, Imyeon (or "The Other Side" as it's Korean name translates) is located in the coastal village of Geumneung. Converted from a local farm building, Imyeon is popular for it's interior with a balance of European, Japanese and Korean finishing touches.

Imyeon roast a range of single origin coffees, which included at the time of visiting:

Imyeon roast their coffee using a Korean manufactured "Burning" Origin small batch roaster with a single run capacity of min. 300g to max. 4kg.

필터 커피도 맛있지만 에스프레소 좋아하시는 분들은 꼭 에스프레소 맛보시길 추천 드려요. 진짜 진짜 맛있어요. 직접 로스팅 하시고, 아직 흔하지 않은 디센트 에스프레소 머신으로 추출해주시구요. (제주에서는 더 흔하지 않을 거라고 생각해요. 궁금하신 분들 가보셔도 좋을 것 같아요...) 여튼 궁극의 에쏘 맛집입니다...🥳 원두는 주기적으로 계속 바뀌고요. 항상 서너가지 원두가 준비되어있고, 모든 원두 제한없이 고르면 자기가 원하는 추출방식으로 마실 수 있어요. (원두 고르고 필터, 에쏘, 라떼 중 마음에 드는 메뉴로 골라서 마시는 거에요.) 서쪽 사는데 제주에서 이런 맛있고 다양한 커피 마실 수 있는 곳이 근처에 있다는게 행운입니다. 제주살이 3년차인데 쉬는 날마다 가서 마시고 와요. 에쏘가 부담 될 때는 필터 커피 마시고요, (필터 커피 물론 맛있습니다!!) 그 외 커피를 못드시는 분들을 위한 쥬스나 핫초코 마셔봤었는데 커피 아닌 메뉴도 정성이 가득 담긴 맛이었어요. 조용한 분위기에 햇살 가득 들어오고 깔끔하고 단단한 느낌의 인테리어가 편안합니다. 여행하면서 맛있는 커피를 마시고 싶을...
