Seongmi Garden — Restaurant in Jeju

*Flies warning in your Food Yesterday 6/12/2024 I went this restaurant with my family. We ordered chicken shabushaby(닭샤브샤브). Food flavor was so so. Flies are everywhere and buzzed around food. I had to fight against flyers constantly while we were eating. Cucumber slices were super dried and looked old ancient imitation dusty look. I even didn't touch them. Backdoor, chicken was super tough and luck warm or just merely warm to be brought to the table. Mung beans were tasty but my son found a big fly inside down, when he scooped the first. I can imagine what kind of hygiene in this place. I am sure they cooked flyers together with chicken soup. Not only ours but must be meant chickens for customers. Whatever owner or server just said sorry and tried to replace mung bean soup. We stopped eating to leave. Owner was willing to charge us but 10,000 won discount. They shouldn't even charge us. Disgusting food experience and worst hygiene environment, and worst customer service with fly soup with charge 60,000won. Don't ever go. I would say. I will never go or never recommend this restaurant. !!! The food price was 70,000won for 3 people. I regretted to quickly leave not taking photos of fly soup and super old cucumber side. Probably left it outside long not even inside the container. I am very sure flies landed every food all the time. No refrigerated chicken meat before serving. I remember that thin sliced chicken was stuck each other and very dried look when it was served. . VERY WORST HYGIENE FOOD AND ENVIRONMENT. DON'T GO AND DONT EAT OVER THERE. HIGH PRICED...

Drove 1 hour to this restaurant for their famous chicken shabu shabu. We were not disappointed. They have only 2 set meals. One with plain chicken stock and the other with fried chicken stock. It comes with a small or large size. The vegetables were fresh and tasty. The chicken shabu shabu was excellent. Then came the rest of the whole chicken where we can tear it apart to enjoy. Finished with the mungbean porridge. We ordered two large set for 8 people and we could not fish the chicken. The waiter spoke English which was good. We we left at 6.15 pm. UPDATE Nov 2022 Second time visiting here was satisfactory. The service was great. Unlike many other restaurants in Jeju, Seongmi Garden doesn't have a break time between lunch and dinner (a huge plus!). Large chicken shabushabu is now 75,000 won (serves 3-4).
