Taste Of Thailand — Restaurant in Pyeongtaek-si

Honestly used to be pretty good a year ago.... but now the food is very bad. It used to be that the food was pretty good for how expensive it was... but now...very bad value and taste is really bad (realized cook and other staff have changed). First of all the beef salad...using very cheap meat and the sauce isn't really thai style. This cost 17000won but would really cost 4000won to make meaning 4x the price. Shrimp fried rice....17000won but the ingredients are all frozen veggies and with few shrimp. Considering it would cost them 3000won they are charging 6x the price. Chicken Pad thai ~15000. This was actually the better of the three. Also they try to sell you bottle water for 2000won...what kinda crap is this? It isn't until you ask for regular water they bring you free water. Water is free in korea and US...and even thailand. I saw this play out multiple times (especially to Americans). For koreans they give the free water since they know koreans don't play that crap🤣

Bottom line is that for it's price and the quality/taste...this place either needs to drop the price or fix their food. We will never go here again. For those seeking thai food google thai restaurant and there's a thai restaurant near pyeongtaek station which is 30% cheaper and taste much better.

P.s. they push you here to pay "cash"... come on...this isn't old Anjeong-ri and shouldn't push customers...

Literally gave me food poisoning. And they tried to manipulate the currency by making us pay one to one. 17,000 won costs 11$ usd and they tried to make me pay one to one for 17$. I could have ate there twice for the price they tried to make me pay once. And when I refused to pay that price and decided to go withdraw Won to pay instead they got angry because I wasn’t going to pay in USD because they wanted to scam money out of me. Not that I should have even paid because like I said they GAVE ME FOOD POISONING. I would not recommend eating here EVER. They will scam you and serve you hazardous and dangerous food. DO NOT. I repeat. DO....

Food and service were excellent. They were not too busy when we went there for lunch. They have a nice selection of various Thai dishes and drinks. The food came out fairly quickly and most of our dishes came out at the same time. Funfact about this place is that the owner used to have a great restaurant in Itaewon - Thai Orchid. For those of you that remember that place, this is the same quality of food and service. This place is on my rotation for my weekly...
