Simply the dim sum is pretty Damn good but the other menu items are pretty mediocre. Price is as you would expect from a restaurant situated in a Marriott hotel but don't expect the Marriott members discount for whatever reason.
The set menu doesn't get you the dim sum staples so you're better off ordering a la carte. Taste is fantastic and I'll swear by it as a Chinese American whose spent years in China. A human has a slice of super tender scallop topping it rather than shrimp and it's a really nice touch. Highly recommended.
Dinner was mediocre but at least had the authentic chinese taste, most Chinese restaurants in korea have a koreanized version of Chinese food. Duck is standard and I wouldn't get it if you've had it before elsewhere, I only got it cause it's been a few years. Other dishes were just okay.
The reasoning for the two-star review was that the service here is terrible as mentioned by many people. When we came here the first time for lunch, the server was inattentive and never refilled my tea and water until I asked him to do so. he also got my order wrong and got me shrimp dumplings when I asked for the shrimp rice rolls, I paid for both in the end. And finally we were sitting around at the end of the meal waiting are for dessert that never came but only after we got up to pay for our meal he ushered us back into our seats and then got us our desserts. Lunch was 150k won for 2 btw.
We came back for dinner despite the service because the food was absolutely delicious. Not only was the food mediocre but my girlfriend found a hair in not one but two of our dishes. there were a lot of apologies and we ultimately got a free dessert and something of a discount but this is not what I would expect of fine dining. It'd be alright if this was some hole in the wall restaurant in Hong Kong but I'm paying for an upscale fine dining experience inside a luxury hotel resort. And honestly this was just plain...
Read moreLoved the food, not the service. First, prior reservations are a must. Why take walk-ins when they know it’ll take an hour for a table for three? When asked “How long’s the wait?”a blanket reply to every walk-in “We cannot be sure since we don’t know how long people will take to eat” does not make it okay. A more clear explanation is needed, such as how many three person tables there are for both prior reservations and walk-ins and how all the two person walk-ins will bypass the order process. Secondly, there is one non-Korean female server who is attentive to customer needs. I am fluent in Korean and English so it was definitely not a language barrier. All the other workers need to be trained to look around and see if there are tables that are trying to get their attention. I do not want to yell across the room for attention. Third, it should note somewhere before entering the restaurant that Marriott members do not get benefits from the restaurant, such as discounts or points. The restaurant is within the Marriott doors (literally) and no where does it state that it is not a part of Marriott. As for the food, everyone was as expected except the Peking Duck being sliced way too thick. despite my request to make the skin as thin as possible without the meat. Additionally, I wish the second course of the duck could have included the lettuce wrap option. FYI we ordered seven things from the menu. The next day I really craved for another meal there but decided that it was not worth the stress I’d endure from the lack of service. Very...

Meal budget per person (without drinks) Category 2 (under 120000 KRW, 100 USD)
There are 2 signature restaurants in Shinhwa World Marriott Resort, one is Jeju Seon, authentic Jeju gourmet experience (I recommend the Black) and the other is Le Chinois.
Le Chinois, meaning China in French, is featuring 30 year's star chef "Alan Chan Wai Lun". Its signature menu is Dimsom and Peking duck with carving service.
(served with Forage barley tea) Wonton noodle soup Fried sweat & sour Jeju pork Deep fried squid with salt & pepper HK style spicy soy bean paste noodles (HK style Jajangmyon) Fried rice, minced beef & duck, X.O. sauce dessert (glutinous rice cake)
Even though wonton noodle soup is weird to me, Peking duck, fried rice - minced duck - X.O. sauce and deep fried squid are delectable to my taste.
